1  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / my version of the forest wall on: December 28, 2011 11:30:34 AM
My boyfriend and I just bought our first apartment and I've been so excited to get to decorate it the way I want, after spending a few years renting small, boring apartments with all white walls. Recently I found this tutorial on craftster: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=383612.0 and decided to something similar in our bedroom, and this is how it came out

It took me just over 3 hours to tape the pattern, and about the same time to paint it

I had a mirror lying around with a plain wooden frame, so I used the leftover paint to paint the frame and hung it on the opposite wall

what do you think ?  Smiley

2  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / new dog bed from old sofa on: December 27, 2011 04:47:25 PM
hi everyone, so we had a sofa set with two sofas, and recently one of them got broken so we decided to turn it into a new dog bed. I sawed off the back and the legs and then stapled some cheap curtain fabric to it, and voila!

and here you can see the matching sofa:

3  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / traditional icelandic wool sweater (felted) on: September 11, 2011 11:59:31 AM
This is my first try at knitting a sweater and it went a lot better than I had expected, except that it turned out way too big for my boyfriend, so we felted it until it fit. and now its both wind- and waterproof Smiley

C&C welcome

Great job!  She's one of my favorites.

Could you explain how you knit from a cross stitch pattern?  I have to try one.

Thanks.

I just knitted like it was a knitting pattern, read from right to left and from the bottom up Smiley

so I saw this marilyn monroe cross stitch pattern on google while looking for some stencils and I just had to try knitting it, it turned out better than I'd expected (especially since it was the first time I knitted with more than one colour Tongue)
