41  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Viva la France (ou Francais) Swap on: May 24, 2009 08:23:58 AM
Most of my items are ready to be shipped. I only need to finalise one of them!

I really like the 3rd one!

I don't think it will be cheaper but I will feel more comfortable. It always seems a big box is likelier to be damaged then several smaller packages. Then again, it's probably psychological! Cheesy

Is it ok to send different small packages instead of one big? Smiley

I'm not sure of what I will get when I post the package, though. Maybe a follow-up number. Will thta be ok?

Hey girls... Just a little update. I have not progressed much since I was so tired this week (and also busy with preparing a bachelorette party)!

Seems that I have been crafting something else too, something I can't really send by e-mail. Smiley I am pregnant!!! It's the very beginning, though so it might not stick but I wanted to tell you anyway!

My swap status: was in France all week-end and yet, haven't progressed much. How ironic! I have progressed but it's one step ahead, two step behind. Don't worry Nataluna, I' won't let you down. Joli t-shirt by the way!

Yeax we have less ready-made stuff here. I was really surprised when I discovered all the "cake mix" recipes on my first days of my American cuisine passion! Smiley

We generally have access to less stuff here. I mean, in the US, everything seems to be available everywhere or if you can't find it IRL, you'll find it on the internet. You can't even imagine how many times I sighed over an online boutique! I was totaly like omg when I saw people were actually dying and spinning their own wool like it was something totally natural... Here you would have to spend a lot of time and energy to find wool (you'd have to ask directly to a farm, and believe me, French farmers can sometimes be a little ...Errr...rude lol) and a spinning wheel!

So many delicious American things we can't get over here... Sad Like Lara bars. I stock on lara bars whenever I go to the US. Then I keep them for a great occasion and they turn bad...

Tings, too. I did a vegan swap once and I was sent Tings. OMG, sooooo good!

Smoked paprika... Yum!

Mac'n'cheese. Yeah the processed kind. Sometimes it's just what you need with a few frozen peas thrown in.

Whole foods salad bar. Ok, you can't send it by mail. But soon, I swear I'm gonna send a letter to the board of directors so that they open a Whole Foods in Belgium.

Graham crackers. and French people can get proper cream cheese (we do have Philadelphia in Belgium, tho). So no good cheesecakes!

I have access to peanut butter, chocolate chips, snickers and maple syrup. I'm sure you can find them easily in France too. But there are many things I don't think of right now... Plus, I've been a total slave to American food and recipes so I'm a bit biased! I investigated and I know where to find the stuff I need... Smiley

What are the things from France/Belgium/Europe you guys don't find easily?
