Ooh. Blood red, ivory, black and pumpkins! That sounds fabulous. Your engagement party invites look great. And I love the idea of using black magic roses. They're my favourites!

I'll be following your thread Smiley

Yay!! Pumpkins are my faaaaaaaaaaavorite thing in the world, next to penguins and bats. Cheesy

I originally wanted to do clear/white glass pumpkin centerpieces sitting atop acrylic risers with twinkle lights around them, but that was just WAY too expensive. I'm still going to get my way, though. There WILL be pumpkins SOMEWHERE lol.

I really like your engagement party invitations. They strike me as slightly-spooky? I don't know if that's the right word. The way the trees are reminds me of Halloween and I like it a lot! Anyways enough of my rambling, congratulations! and your rings are gorgeous, so classic looking!

Hee! Yes! That was totally the point. Smiley I want things to be slowly building up to the wedding as far as spookiness goes. Grin

And thank you!!

Your invitations look great! What is that font you used? It looks similar to one my bf's band used on their site at one point, but yours looks classier.

Erm... I'm not 100% sure and I tried to look through my fonts, but couldn't figure it out. All I know is I downloaded it from www.dafont.com...

yep the scent was blended by me! I was like a mad scientist in my kitchen pouring and weighing out all the scents to make what I was looking for... its quite fun and addicting lol

Hee!! I can totally picture this!! Although, I'm sure you're not nearly as crazed-eyed as I am when mixing hair colors LOL.  Cheesy

I'm not sure if the engagement party will have its own thread or not. Pretty much EVERYTHING is going to be crafted or made in some way for that party. I think we're going to various stores this weekend for supplies. Smiley

Here is a picture of the outside of the engagement party invite:

BEAUTIFUL colors - the picture just doesn't do it justice.

Here is a picture of what I created to print on vellum on the inside (important bits blacked out for obv. reasons):

And for good measure, here are two pictures of my engagement ring (which when I saw it in Jared, I didn't want to try it on!!) & wedding band:

Congrats on the wedding - hopefully the country will come to its senses and get over the homophobia!
Our anniversary is in September and we used potted peace lilies for our centerpieces.

Thank you!! Wedding planning is so insane!! I'm so glad we have over a year, but as I've been told - it will come QUICKLY!

Congratulations!! My partner's favorite flower is the orchid, but they're SO delicate and SO expensive that there's really no way we can incorporate them. Flowers really aren't something important to us, so we're going with the cheapest we can get, save for the black magic roses. We'd rather splurge on the FOOD and the photography. Cheesy

Ooh gerber dasies are my absolute favorite! They're cheap AND pretty. Plus, for some reason imagining a bouquet or centerpiece of blood red roses (not fully opened) and big, white gerber daisies makes me insanely happy. I'm not sure why, but I LOVE the combination in my head. :.)

YES!!! THIS!!! I really want to incorporate the black magic roses into my bouquet and the head table. Mostly for how amazingly beautiful they are, but also for the name. Heh. Cheesy
