I've made more pumpkins.  I kind of love them.
but I was really sad that Hobby Lobby discontinues my favorite orange boucle yarn for this hat.  so I tried a new color, regular worsted weight.

I'm thinking that I might need to make a few more this year since Autumn is approaching and I want to be ready for Autumn sales.

I made these last year while my husband was ill in hospital for a couple of days.

I haven't written a pattern yet.  I'm not sure when I will ever get to.  but it's pretty simple if you can use a double ended hook.  it's just Tunisian in the round.  knit stitch.  and then I got brave and tried cables like a knitter would do and it worked out so very well!

I love this! It's beautiful, I will certainly be borrowing the concept, I'm starting to see something awesome forming in my mind's eye to accompany my koi painting.

<< I love koi. Wink
I made one for my daughter and now a friend of mine wants me to make one for her, too.

such a beautiful way to use crocodile stitch.

I'd love to see the finished products!

People on etsy have suggested I make a darker colored one (probably for the fall)

"Oh I love it, but I wish it was darker colors!"

So now I'm working on a black and gold one!

this was so much fun... apart from weaving in all those ends.

thank you for sharing your koi'n purse design.  it's terrific!

last year I made pumpkin hats for my youngest boys.  I realized that I never did take pictures of them last year.

I had my littlest pose for his brother's hat this morning.  (I did say that I would share pics)

These are just single crochet with two strands together.

my youngest wanted to have a jack-o-lantern face on his and so I cut out felt shapes and sewed them to the hat.

I didn't make any 'vines' or stem on the top of his so it can be turned inside out and worn longer than October without any weird looks. Smiley

he wore this hat all winter until I made them R2D2 hats at the end of winter this year.

if you have a pumpkin hat, please share pics.  I love pumpkins!

4  Re: Harry Potter - Luna Lovegood Scarf - My Take - PATTERN & CHART ADDED! in Crochet: Completed Projects by oldlady on: August 17, 2011 12:51:59 AM
this is where you went wrong...

you have extra fans... you skipped two dc and fan stitched in the 3rd.
you should have skipped 4 dc and fan stitched in the 5th

you have way too many fans.   I've done different types of yarn with this one and you can easily get it done in 1 skein with most types of yarn.  so if you want to do an unravel, you can make two scarves.
Great color choice.  I love brown!

I hope I've been helpful instead of more confusing.

5  PUMPKINS in Crochet: Completed Projects by oldlady on: August 14, 2011 05:28:55 PM
I'm getting really anxious for Fall.  my favorite time of year Smiley

kid

or adult size

baby size

I used Tunisian knit stitch.  ever since I heard about tunisian in the round I've been addicted.  I'm still figuring out the nuances of working in the round with Tunisian crochet but all in all I've been really excited about how it looks.  I have tried knitting and I can kind of knit, but when it comes right down to it, knitting takes me forever so I love doing this knit stitch with crochet because it works up so much faster for me (though it is much thicker than just knitting).

6  baby sneakers ! squeeeeal in Crochet: Completed Projects by oldlady on: May 15, 2011 05:11:37 AM
I made my first pair of baby sneakers a few weeks ago and I still just can't get over how amazingly cute they are.  I get all silly and childish when I look at them.

the first pair I made for a friend who is having her first baby soon and I wanted her to have something special for her little guy.  since then I just can't stop making them.

I just realized that I never shared a picture of my completed project... so now that it's been over a year later... here you go.
her face didn't turn out exact - not even close... but my daughter loves her and she said I'm not allowed to redo anything on her. Smiley

I made this for my oldest son, and maybe a little bit for myself (being that we are a family of scifi nerds and it's all my fault)

I'm not sure how the goggles went wrong, but they ended up different sizes!  but I think he's pretty silly anyway.  my son will love it.

Thanks so much, again, for the pattern.  you're awesome
