1  Re: Matchbox Swap round 4! CLOSED Sendouts 2/18/11 in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by abbytail on: May 08, 2011 05:11:12 AM
Yay! I received from lukenlarry!  The matchbox she made unfortunately got lost in the post. Sad But she made me a new one and it made it safe and sound across the ocean.

I love the colors on the matchbox. And the dragonfly is glittery, but I couldn't capture that on photo. You'll just have to believe me that the dragonfly really stands out.

I'm not sure what the box is covered with, but i think it's polymer clay.

This is how full she packed the matchbox, it was positively bulging!

Here is everything laid out. I love the necklace, it's got a bit of a hippy/laid back style and it matches my summerwardrobe!  The tiny bits are tiny shells, a button, a chinese button?, pegs, metal swirls that I think I can use in jewelry making, googly eyes in different sizes, stickers, fabric flowers and a stone. Is it tigers eye?

Thank you lukenlarry!

Be prepared for another dose of moomin goodies!

I'll get straight to the point so here are the photo's:

Sylvanna sent me all kinds of great moomin stuff!
And did she go moomin all the way, she even had wrote a short letter to me on moomin stationary!

There's a moomin bag of which I took a detail shot of the embroidery

My favorite moomin character is little My and Sylvanna captured her image (AND her attitude) in this great hoopla!

It's my first hoopla ever! I think this will go above my desk in my craftspace.

She also made these great Thingummy and Bob coasters.

They're the weirdest/funniest moomin characters in my opinion  Grin  They're not going to be used as coasters though, my boyfriend confiscated them allready. He reckons there way to good to be put underneath something. I think he wants to hang them on the kitchen wall.

There were two moomin cards, a keychain/bagcharm with (shrinkydink?) moomins (I'm sure I too a detail photograph, no Idea where it went though Sad  ) and a moomin paperclip too.

I received from timpani~jax today!

And because a picture can say a thousand words I'll move straight on to the pictures:

the package contained a letter from timpani~jax (on colorfull handmade, selfmade? paper)and the carefully wrapped box.

the box:

the front with one of Muchas beautifully art nouveau ladies

the back, with an intricate patter timpani~jax copied from the embroidery in the Mucha painting (hoe clever is that!?!)

the contents as it was in the box, you can see the cute lace and the felted balls, which I think those Will become part of a necklace...... but that's another thread (of thought Smiley )

the whole contents:

She went with the nature /art nouveau theme and as I mentioned I like felted objects she included four small felted balls, and a scrabble tile pendant, some beads and charms a tiny compass, a tiny bottle with a cork, a old fashioned pen, a leather leaf and the afore mentioned lace.
I love everything!

THANK YOU TIMPANI~JAX!

I finally got my package! And boy, was it worth waiting for! So without further ado I'll show you what i got from Squire_inaria.

A wonderfull nature inspired mirror! This will certainly get a good place in my new home. I'm already imagining it in the hallway above a small table.  Thank you so much! It is truly lovely. (and sorry for the smudgy photo, I was at my parents house when I opened the package, and you know how everybody likes to 'see' things, so fingerprints gallore.

She also included a card and a small extra from her region: a little sandglobe with coyote's in it!

Thank you, Squire_inaria!

We have had this horrible leather couch for the last five years. But it's the only one we can fit into our small but cozy living room. But as I said it looked horrible so I thought I could try to make a slip cover for it, as I could hardly ruin it .... Grin
so first the before pictures

The green throw Is my sad attempt at making an easy improvement (didn't really succeed)

so I bought some sturdy curtain fabric and made this:

It's far from perfect, but I think it's an improvement anyway......
