21  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: 1/2 Dozen Fat Quarters Swap on: February 20, 2007 09:04:09 PM
Finally! Here are my pictures. I received last week and kept meaning to post them. Sorry to my partners!

From Alibeachgrl

And from Kantha_stich

And my absolute fav two out of the bunch!!

I heart teeny flowers, especially vinatge looking ones. And the pink one, I had in my shopping cart the other day and reprodept, but I resisted. So perfect, these two Smiley

And for the record...my camera has never taken such bad pictures. Not sure what's going on there Sad

*ahem* As the receiver of the original case from Mariska, I have to say.....

It totally rocks!  I can fit four games in the pocket, and the ds fits perfectly.   Smiley

I'm so sorry to hear that Ezri.

I'll keep you and your family in my thoughts.

I feel like such a dork right now!!!

I just sat down with fabric and tools to cut everything and get it together for mailing tomorrow. I thought I would check my messages one more time to make sure I have the right preferences for my two partners...and that's when I saw it.

How many times have I read this thread? And yet I mis-read it. Instead of 1/2 dozen, I kept thinking ten. I'm not sure where I got it. I think when I signed up I must have had the number ten on my mind from something else. So I have enough to send my partners 10 FQ's each... How in the world am I going to narrow it down? I love all the fabrics I have...

what a goober!  Grin

I am on my way to the fabric store tomorrow!  I hope my partners like what I get....woo...I'm so excited!!

Ohohoh...I'm so excited! I was just reading your swap link and I'm thrilled by something you said. I don't want to give anything away though. See, I was really drawn to this certain fabric today. It's not my style, and I didn't think it would appeal to my partners, but I kept going back to it. (Don't you hate when fabric does that?!) Of course, I bought it. And wouldn't you know, it fits with something you have on your list perfectly, and it's a good one  Cheesy

I'm a little worried my partners won't like what I send, but at least now I know one fat quarter will be good to go Smiley

I went out to run errands today and oops...fell into the door of the fabric store  Cheesy

I bought all I need (1 yard of each print so there's plenty left for me, lol) Now, I just need to cut and mail.

Oh yeah...my 6 and 8 yr old were with me too and they whined the whole time. It's an epidemic I tell ya...
27  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Re: Thermal from Knitty on: February 08, 2007 07:26:32 PM
ibmomof2 - which yarn are you using? Is going up that many needle sizes leaving you with a holey weave?

I'm using the knitpicks gloss. The good news is I got guage on US 4. Stitch and row...I never get row gauge Smiley  It does seem ever so slightly loose, but I think that's in part because of the stitch pattern. Stretchy, you know?

Holy cow...I knew I wasn't going to get gauge but geesh! I started with US 1's, then 2, 3, and now moving to size 4. But I'm guessing the 4 isn't going to cut it either. Hopefully, I can stop at 5.  Lately, I've been having to go up one or two needles sizes, but this is nuts.

I hate swatching...but glad I am. *sigh*

I'm going to do my swatch tonight (I hate the process, but this time it's a must!)

I'm using the gloss in Burgandy. It is sooo soft. I think it has a slight tint of brown with the red, not really purple. It's just ever so slightly darker than what you see on the website. When I opened the package I thought, "That's a true burgandy." (Of course, my opinion might not mean much, hehe)

I fell in love with this and I too am a big thermal wearer. I ordered my yarn for it already (the gloss in burgandy). I'd been searching for a new project for a couple days. I am a little worried about the gauge, but I'm willing to give it a shot. I didn't order the needles yet though. I've been having gauge issues with everything lately so I think I'll swatch with DPN's first.

Now lets see how long it takes to get my knit picks order. And of course, will it be done before it warms up around here? (That could be tomorrow or next month in in Central Virginia)
