21  GLASS CRAFTS / Glass Crafts: Completed Projects / Kindergarten Makes Fused Glass Night Lights on: February 10, 2013 11:25:00 AM

My Kindergarten class designed fused glass night lights. Attached are the photos of the work in progress before firing.  They came out quite well.  I failed to take pictures of any after they were assembled, but the kids were beyond excited with the results.  - I can't show their faces on the pics, obviously - but the expressions were those of kids deep in thought and careful with accuracy!

They measured 2.5 inches square.  I attached them to night light kids I got on line.

I teach Kindergarten.  My class designed snow people out of glass and we tack fused them.  Quite a hoot to see five year olds meticulous about the layout of their hats and scarves.

They measure 3.5 inches by 1 inch.

28  GLASS CRAFTS / Glass Crafts: Completed Projects / Fused Glass Dichroic Glass Pendants, Round 2 on: November 12, 2012 03:21:41 PM

So, I whipped up another set of these.  They need to go back in for the second fire to round and smooth the edges.  I am groovin' on how wild they look.

29  GLASS CRAFTS / Glass Crafts: Completed Projects / Dichroic Fused Glass Pendants on: November 07, 2012 08:01:23 PM

These are hot out of the kiln this afternoon.
I laid out scrap dichroic glass on black glass.  Topped it with a clean sheet.  They were fully fused at 1450 degrees.
Then I cut the fused piece into small pieces which I refired at 1340 degrees to polish and round the sharp edges.
Viola- Oodles of pendants.
