I've almost finished making my second pair now, had to scale it down for my tiny hands.
I gave the first pair to my husband, they turned out quite large!
(Pics later when I get the hang of the camera!)

Oh no! Sorry about that. I'm going to have to make another pair and get my size and gauge down. I'm looking forward to those pictures!

WOW! Those are so cool! I can't knit but maybe I could find a pair of brown gloves and stick on a domokun face  Smiley
That works! Much faster too, ha.

You guys are great, thanks for all the lovely comments. Smiley

It's funny, I've made two pairs already, but don't have any for myself. I've seen some pink domo-kun plushies out there and thought they were cute, so I might make myself pink domo gloves.

Thanks guys!

That is BANGIN', my friend. Thank you so much for sharing! And congratulations on getting featured, you totally deserve it--it's a really original idea.

Thanks so much! Wow, I didn't know I was featured, that's exciting!   Cheesy

I've had a set of DPNs in my craft box begging me to try them out for a few months....I think I've found my project!

Cheesy

Sweet! I'd love to see them when they're done!
6  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: How Should I Make This? on: January 17, 2010 08:44:59 PM
Silly me, I didn't even think of just moving the knot after the headband was sewn up. Duh. But I do like the idea of the kitchener stitch, too. Sounds like it would be much more neat.

pamelabd--Thanks for the pictures! Cute headband, by the way. I think you're right, it looks like HDC. I knew it looked familiar.

I think that if you crocheted it the knot would be really too big and bulky for its own good so I'd go with the knit stockinette stitch there. Wink

That's a good point. Might be too bulky. I don't know, I'll try a few different stitches and see what works out best. The type of yarn I use might help with bulkiness, too.

Thanks for the great suggestions, everyone!
7  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / How Should I Make This? on: January 17, 2010 12:38:01 AM
I'm looking at this and feeling like I should know how to make it. It's just a headband with a knot, right?

So would I just knit a rectangle, knot it in the center, and then sew the two edges together? Or is there a better way to make this so that I don't have an ugly seam in the back? Also, that doesn't exactly look like stockinette. Any ideas on what that stitch is?

Any help on recreating this or similar patterns would be much appreciated! Thanks.  Smiley

may i ask about what are the finishing dimensions on these? i'm gonna make myself a pair, but kinda have longish hands? lol.

I'm sorry, I'm not able to get the measurements. I don't have a pair of my own right now. But you could always add more rounds either before you begin increasing for the thumb gusset, or after the thumb gusset. You could also make the ribbing longer than four rounds. It helps to try them on while they're still on the DPNs to see how much more length you need.

You're all welcome! I'd like to see pictures of your finished gloves, if you don't mind.  Smiley
