For vacation this year [july 18-25] my family is taking my boyfriend and I to Montreal. I wanted to find some really neat, cool places to take my boyfriend. I'm thinking good [cheap] restaurants, museums, music shops, craft stores, SEX shops! and BARS.
I'm turning 19 a few weeks before I go and I'll be legal! So, to celebrate, he's going to take me out, but we wanted to find some cool places to go and hang out while we're there.
anything you crafty ladies suggest, I'll be sure to try to check out!
I'm having a problem that seems simple enough that I can't get. I'm working on size 8 dpns and I'm just trying to make a simple stockinette stitch hat and I cast on and start knitting and it seems fine...until I stop knitting and look at the part that's beginning to roll.
it looks like there's a link between the stiches I've cast on the the first knit stitches I make. I'm trying to figure out how to fix that and have started this hat over 4 times. it's making me crazy!!! I decided that I should try out a k p pattern for the first row to see how that looks, but I'm afraid that damn chain is going to be there again!
My best friend's 19th birthday is coming up and she really likes beat poets. For christmas, I got her The Outlaw Bible of American Poetry and for her birthday I'd like to make her a Beat Poet in a box gift!
My ideas of what to include:
a black hat/beret black hair dye black eye liner maroon nailpolish [she won't wear black] a VIBRATING pen that actually writes a notebook clove cigarettes pachouli oil and either a gift certificate to cup o' joe or chai mix
does anyone have any other suggestions? I know she'd love it as it is, but I'm kind of broke and can't really find the money it might take to pick up all of these items...
I picked up these lovely [I thought circular] clover bamboo needles. only problem: they're half circular!!! I have no idea how to use these lovely needles, but I'd like to try before giving up completely and taking them back. http://www.kathys-kreations.com/knittingneedles.html the second picture on this page is what I have.
