4  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Quilts for Family (img. chubby) on: June 21, 2009 05:41:25 PM
I have been quilting off and on for about 10 years now and I just got back into it again, the first quilt I made for my DH, he loves blue. My mom has a deep neck quilting machine and did the top quilting for me. I am happy with how it came out, the second quilt I made my Mother-In-Law using a stacked coin pattern. I love the vintage look it has to it. let me know what you think! Thanks for looking! C&C welcome.
This one has the pit bull seal of approval!

Karen's Quilt, also holds the Pit seal of approval!

6  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Covers for everything!! on: June 21, 2009 05:28:03 PM
sooo when you have a animals, cats especially it seems that their hair gets everywhere. I spent an after noon making covers for my sewing machine and my kitchen aide mixer! I just measured and made it up as I went along. first the sewing machine cover, made from an bed sheet from the good will:

Then my kitchen aide cover which is reversible cherries on one side and polka dots on the other, my kitchen theme is cherries so i tend to leave it on that side but here are pics of both:

thanks for looking as always C&C welcome!
have a lovely day!
7  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / free ugly desk to wonderful pink desk! on: June 21, 2009 10:24:45 AM
I needed a desk and because we just didn't have the money for something new I searched craigs list for a sturdy free desk. when i went to pick it up i wasn't prepared for how ugly it really was. and after weeks of hard labor and chemicals this is what i came up with:

Then i made our headboard, very basic but I like the way it came out. Covered a piece of plywood with batting and then upholstery fabric and stapled it all in place!

C&C welcome!
thanks for looking!
