1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Military-ish jacket on: June 02, 2010 11:12:52 AM
My first time trying to do a jacket, and my first time using a thick fabric...

The fabric is some sort of wool..
I used a pattern from a Finnish crafts magazine called Moda, I can't remember what issue and I don't know if they publish it in English/other languages...

I might try to get better pictures later... Smiley

Comments, critique etc. are welcome Smiley

3  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / ~First stencil~ on: March 15, 2010 08:51:08 AM
Ok, so I wanted try stenciling. I also discovered a great new band a while back...
The result?
A hoodie with their logo on it~
(some shameless advertising, I apoligize; http://www.myspace.com/onewayonesound <-- Check out their music if you're interested Cheesy )

Making the stencil took longer than I thought it would (not to mention I ended up procrastinating a lot..) but other than that it went well.
It's not really as clean as I'd like it to be, but since it's my first I can live with it... :'D I'll do better next time.

I used Marabu Textil paint (248 Sahara)... I really like this color, although I'm usually not into brown... Smiley

8  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / My first necklace on: December 23, 2009 10:55:48 AM
I made my first necklace today...
It was rather too simple, actually.. I still have a few beads left.. And 2 of those lock-things... And a huge roll of fishing line... :'D

I personally love it. If I find more beads I like I'll definately make more Cheesy
9  CRAFTING FOR GOOD AND NOT EVIL / Crafty Charitable/Social Causes / Unicef "geisha"-doll on: September 10, 2009 12:31:59 PM

This is a doll for a vaccination project by Unicef (http://www.unicef.org/infobycountry/italy_15634.html <--- more info here) that I did in my practical training. It took about 13 hours.

Unicef gave the pattern for the doll. But from there on we had freedom to do what we wanted.

I made up a random pattern for the kimono so it's not really that accurate... :'D The fabric I used was originally a satin-ish pillowcase (a horrible choice really, the edges kept unraveling) and the obi is silk (the obi isn't totally accurate either, I just tried to make it look good..)
Oh, and on another note, the fabrics were all recycling material Smiley

The hair and kanzashi (hairpins) were really fun to do. For the kanzashi I used random pearls and buttons that I found.

Comments, questions etc. are welcome Smiley
10  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Omurice of some sort? on: May 26, 2009 01:03:00 AM
My first post in Craftster, please be kind.. Cheesy

I was inspired by a few omuraisu recipes here a few days ago and this morning (half an hour ago..) I decided to give it a try.
Basically I just took whatever I had at hand, in this case it was

  - 2 eggs
  - sliced ham
  - cheese
  - rice
  - a tomato and some cucumber (remember your greens Smiley )

I mixed the eggs and ham (I should've put some salt in though..), put them in a pan, waited until it had cooked a little, added the cheese and rice and flipped it together after the cheese had melted a little... Unfortunately it ripped in the middle, but that doesn't really change the taste so I just ignored it.. Grin
Used the same methods as used to make omuraisu, though the ingredients are different... Smiley
I had fun trying to get the presentation as pretty as possible... And on top of it all, it was delicious ^__^
