1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Prom Dress Help! on: March 06, 2011 06:22:03 AM
My last year of high school is almost over! And that, of course, means that prom is coming up. It's not until the end of April but I want to start now because I can be a huge bum.
This is the dress that I really want to make:
http://www.eleonorabonucci.com/women/clothing/dress/vestito-carmina-multicolor-.html

I need help knowing how to start though! What should the silhouette of the dress be? Should I use circles of fabric or sequins (or both)? How should I attach them to the dress?

Any help would be appreciated!!
2  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / My Bernette 66 is giving me some trouble! on: July 21, 2009 10:51:27 AM
Like I said, I have a Bernette 66, and I've had it for about four months without any issues (until now).

I was using it yesterday and I had a small tangle with the lower thread. I took out the bobbin and found a teeny clump of tangled thread. I removed that and a few loose strands from the bobbin holder and went about re-threading my machine (this has happened before). Now, here's my problem:

I cannot get the needle to pick up the lower thread!!!

I've threaded and re-threaded everything, used different bobbins and different thread, and even opened up the lower part of my machine (with help from the manual, of course) to give it a general cleaning and to see if there was anything keeping it stuck.
Zip.

Does anyone have any ideas?
