Those are awesome! I haven't been able to throw out my favorite converse (went with me to Bonnaroo also) so maybe I'll upcycle them like this.

I think I'm in love. I made a hat kind of like that for my sister last year and it wasn't half as well done. Great job!

Gorgeous! I know people who do greek/toga themes parties and if I wore something like that I'd be the best dressed person there.

I love this! I could totally see this becoming a huge hit at my college, it's unique and could go with just about anything. I want one!
9  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Re: Prom Dress Help! on: March 08, 2011 07:33:08 PM
thank you so much! I definitely agree, it looks like a sheath dress. I think I'm going to use sequins, and then try to find pre-cut circles of fabric to vary the texture. (I don't think I could cut out that many circles by hand and have it look good)
10  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Prom Dress Help! on: March 06, 2011 06:22:03 AM
My last year of high school is almost over! And that, of course, means that prom is coming up. It's not until the end of April but I want to start now because I can be a huge bum.
This is the dress that I really want to make:

I need help knowing how to start though! What should the silhouette of the dress be? Should I use circles of fabric or sequins (or both)? How should I attach them to the dress?

Any help would be appreciated!!
