1  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Baby Showers And Gifts For New Babies / Yet another Baby girl diaper cake (loads of piccies!) on: June 03, 2011 09:05:58 PM

Finally finished this yesterday! I thought the mum-to-be (now new mum!) deserved a treat so I used a bottle of bubbly to support the layers of nappies. I made a new label for the bottle using a piece of the paper I used to cover the cake, you can't quite see it but the white says Congratulations and underneath in gold it says You've changed at least 80 nappies (thats how many are in the cake).

it was pretty easy to make, the longest part was rolling up all the nappies...

The trickiest thing was covering the nappies in paper once they were placed around the bottle, i was terrified the whole thing was gonna fall apart! Fortunately it survived, and looks quite fancy Smiley

The cupcake socks worked really well and they look SO cute. I used this video tutorial http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z-V_P7drUgg

and finally a close-up of the bunting because I love it. The baby's name is Layla.

Thanks for looking x x
2  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Scrapbooking: Completed Projects / Little Book of Love... (quite a few pics, sorry!)-first post on: April 16, 2011 12:34:17 AM
I made this for the bf just before he moved to Japan for six months to make sure he remembered me... We've now lived here together for two years! I've been a craftster-addict for years but I've never posted anything so I thought it was about time. I'm always so inspired by other people's creations, so thanks for all your help!

this is the front cover, pretty simple, just squishy foam shapes (from the 1 shop-I'm classy)

more foam letters, and a heart-shaped diamond. I love sparkles!

more sparkly diamond stickers

Halloween page... red and brown paint mixed with PVA. this was lots of fun, trying to make 'realistic' splatter patterns

one last pic (sorry!) this is possibly my favourite page... the paper is some scraps of vintage wrapping paper I inherited from a friend's mum and then I cut out some ice-skates (we were ice-skating, you just can't see in the photo)

thanks for looking!
