7  Re: 50 Projects 2012--Join here and post your lists ! in Craftalongs by pincushion_queen on: January 01, 2012 12:10:51 PM
apparently making lists DOES motivate me... here is my first project of 2011!

recycled/upcycled paper flowers made with the wrapping paper from my presents.

i used this tutorial http://howaboutorange.blogspot.com/2010/10/how-to-make-recycled-paper-flowers.html and cut the templates out of some card so i could just cut around them with a craft knife, easy-peasy Smiley

i'm gonna keep going until i run out of paper and then use them as decorations next year. not only are they pretty and totally eco-friendly but they remind me of the lovely presents i was given this year Cheesy

sorry about the awful pictures, i think i'm gonna add learning how to take good craft photos to my list...

you know when you've got so much stuff you really need to do that you can't pick one thing and just get started? well i've found the perfect aversion therapy.... making little robins! I plan to hang these off the jars of jam i'm gonna make tomorrow (seriously, i really will make some tomorrow) for my bf's parents/grandparents.

eeeeep its Christmas soon  Cheesy

So...the day before yesterday I found out that my bf will no longer starting a new job in a town an hour away but will in fact be moving to Scotland (waaaaaaaaaaaay more than an hour away)  Sad  and he'll be moving in 10 days! This means that next week is the last time i'll see him and his family before Christmas, which means I've got so much stuff to do/craft  Shocked

In the spirit of stiff-upper-lippedness i've buckled down, pulled my socks up etc and managed to make this:

its a pretty simple design (freezer paper is amazing!) but its to replace an old top of his which he loved and wore constantly until it fell apart...

Can i just say, Setacolor Opaque fabric paints are the greatest things ever!!

I've also got together the bits we'll need to make fingerprint jewellery, I was thinking one afternoon next week we can make them and swap, so i'll have his fingerprint on a necklace and he'll have mine  Smiley

Anyway, sorry for the rambling, I'm just so happy I finally have something finished!

I hope you're all having great weeks,

x

I stumbled across this thread yesterday and after reading up to page 47 I had to go outside (before my eyes went completely square) so I thought what better to do but go and buy some packing tape! I cannot thank you guys enough for sharing this technique, I am in love!!! I've spent all afternoon butchering an old copy of Pop and making these:

I just need to decide what to do with them...

thanks again! x
