151  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Jar of Whimsies 4 (Signups Closed; Sendouts 3/7) on: May 18, 2009 06:28:33 PM
Wow everyone is getting great jars!

I will keep an eye out for another Jar of Whimsies when I comply with all the rules. This swap seems like a good one to start off with. Hopefully I will have been a member for a month before the end of the next sign ups!
152  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Scrapbooking: Discussion and Questions / Personality Box Help on: May 18, 2009 06:05:47 PM
My mums birthday is coming up and I would like to make her a small box and fill it with different bits of decorated card and trinkets.

It is hard to explain but basically it till be in the form of a cigarette type box (lid flips open, though around 4x6 size).
Inside will be a variety of cards each with a word, eg kindness with perhaps people hugging, thoughtfulness and a pic of a cupcake.

Problem being I am not sure how to make a box like this that is strong. I also have trouble thinking up other cards ideas and small gifts I can include.

Any ideas?

Oops this needs moved to paper crafts, sorry!

153  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Discussion and Questions / Re: Pinata Filler Ideas Needed on: May 17, 2009 04:13:50 PM
Wow, I love all the crochet animals, especially the birds and the mice. I really need to learn how to crochet but alas I am no good at written instructions, more of a picture type Roll Eyes Maybe I can find some on etsy  Cheesy

I am going off to buy supplies for the pipe cleaner horses and men.

Can I asked what you searched for? I have tried the search feature but seem to come up blank.

Oh cool, they look really fun! And after they have found them I can even show them how to make them.

Thanks a bunch!
155  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Discussion and Questions / Pinata Filler Ideas Needed on: May 17, 2009 10:55:01 AM
Each year I buy a pinata for my niece and nephew and fill it with bits and pieces. This year I would love the majority of the items to be handmade, hopefully by me!

Problem is I have no clue what I can make that is small enough to go in a pinata and also be bash resistant when they get carried away trying to make a hole in it.

My niece is 9 and nephew is 7.

Thank you!
156  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Discussion and Questions / Identifying Stone Beads? on: May 17, 2009 10:40:19 AM
Well firstly hi! I am new to this forum but I have been hooked ever since I happened across it.

I was wondering if anybody knew of a site where I could identify different stones. I have a vintage necklace that I would like to remove the beads from and would love to know what they are.

Also if I were to post pics could people give me some ideas?

Thanks!
