I really, really like this!  Did you use a pattern?

Thanks! No, no pattern.. I made it up myself. It was my first try at a fitted(ish) bodice, so that took quite a while to get right...
2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Patchwork dress with lace-up back on: August 13, 2010 10:10:03 AM
I'm really proud of this dress. I don't usually buy fabric from the store (as opposed to salvaging thrifted clothes) but I have to admit it's a little easier.

I used two yards of fabric, a length of cord I had lying around, and some lace at the bottom.

This is the back!

And this is the blue fabric, it's not actually solid, but my pictures don't show the print very well.

Thanks for looking!

With pleats and lining this time Shocked

Side zipper... Not my neatest ever, but shh.

The pillowcase fabric was pretty see-through, so I added a lining. The fabric looks like this:

Looks cool! I looove lace (is that the word you're looking for?) and grommets on skirts. Smiley

6  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / My power metal dress on: July 15, 2010 04:16:18 PM
I don't know if anyone here is into the band Power Quest, but my boyfriend gave me a couple band shirts that were way too big for me to wear. So I made a dress out of them!

Yes, pretty cheesy artwork.. But they're a cheesy band. Cheesy The text on the back says Neverworld: Beyond the blue horizon.

Yay t-shirt patchwork skirts! I can't get enough of these.
8  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / A top from a dress on: June 23, 2010 02:14:26 PM
Made from one huge ol' shapeless dress...

I learned shirring, woooo!

And here's a closer view of the neckline, which is bordered by some lace from my grandma's stash.

I like it. Cheesy

Ooh, those look really neat! They look like something Jack Skellington would wear. I might have to try something like this.
