I'm really proud of this dress. I don't usually buy fabric from the store (as opposed to salvaging thrifted clothes) but I have to admit it's a little easier.
I used two yards of fabric, a length of cord I had lying around, and some lace at the bottom.
This is the back!
And this is the blue fabric, it's not actually solid, but my pictures don't show the print very well.
I don't know if anyone here is into the band Power Quest, but my boyfriend gave me a couple band shirts that were way too big for me to wear. So I made a dress out of them!
Yes, pretty cheesy artwork.. But they're a cheesy band. The text on the back says Neverworld: Beyond the blue horizon.
Made from two pillowcases, 55 cents total at the thrift store (got the zipper there too).
Darts could look a little better, but whatever, I'm happy with it!
This was my first time using a zipper on a piece of clothing! I practiced like three times before I sewed it on. I'm so proud. I'm in love with the shape of the zipper pull too.
I love these things, and I finally made one of my own. It was surprisingly simple. Materials were two thrifted pillowcases and a length of storebought cord. Total cost: $1.50.
A birthday present for my then-boyfriend. All the patches are from thrifted corduroy pants. I took the straps and plastic buckle parts from an old backpack.
This was my entry for a recycled fashion contest on campus. It's made from scrap fabric, mainly old t-shirts. I forgot the exact number of squares, but it's at least 200. They took approximately forever to gather and sew.
There were only three entries in my age group... and sadly, the other two tied for the winner. Oh well, I'm still proud of it.
I picked up this pillowcase from a thrift store yesterday, 'cause I like the lacy part at the bottom, and today I got to work. For now I'm using a shoelace to hold it up.
Now pictures. The color's a little plain, so I might end up dyeing it.
