11 IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / Happy cat!--first freezer paper stencil on: May 10, 2008 06:01:24 AM
I made this shirt for my friend's birthday yesterday and I have to say that I am a convert to freezer paper stenciling. (Don't mind the dirty ping pong table.)

It wound up kind of blotchy. If I would have had more time I would have tried to fix it, but oh well. I remain fond of it.
12 NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / "Cowboy Bebop" fans and corgi lovers unite--Embroidered Ein pillow on: May 07, 2008 05:33:50 PM
I made this for an Adult Swim swap. My partner listed one of her favorite shows as Cowboy Bebop and one of her favorite characters as Ein. I too am fond of Ein, so I decided to embroider her a pillow.

Tada!
13 ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Anatomy/Medical swap? on: April 30, 2008 06:21:53 PM
I've seen a lot of really keen posts featuring internal organ-based crafts and the like, and thought we could probably get a pretty good swap out of it.

Some examples of swap inspiration:
Fetus Popple
Human anatomy shirt
Teeth pendant

You get the idea. Anyone interested? I think I'd be willing to try my hand at organizing if anyone is.
14 HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions / sealing projects on: March 13, 2008 09:40:26 PM
I'm having some problems with a couple of my old decoupage projects. I sealed them with Mod Podge and, well, it didn't seem to seal it very well. One has a few scratches in the pictures I used, and I just discovered a rip in another one. What do you do to make sure it stays sealed?
Also, is there any trick to getting the pictures flat and bubble-free besides just trying really, really hard?
15 HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / decoupaged Avengers box on: March 13, 2008 09:33:37 PM
I made this box for my boyfriend a while back. I got some crappy Avengers comic, some scissors, and so Mod Podge and went to town. He uses it for change and various junk.

I love the captions. They're so corny.
Spiderman is saying, "Hey! What can I say? I hope we can live up to these awesome dudes and ladies!"
Vision is saying, "I shall have to ponder this predicament at great length to come to a feasible solution!"

My favorite. J. Jonah Jameson saying, "I knew that moron was going to use the word 'awesome'!"
16 KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / first intarsia project on: March 13, 2008 09:17:46 PM
I'm a wuss when it comes to knitting; I am always terrified to try new things, so it took me about 1324 years to get around to intarsia. One of my friends is obsessed with all things medical related, so when his birthday came along, I thought a red cross wristband would be a nice way to ease myself into intarsia.

I used the wristband pattern from Stitch and Bitch and made my own chart. I wish I would have made the cross more even, but my friend has been wearing it pretty much every day since I gave it to him, so I guess I did okay. Smiley
17 KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Babydoll nightgown on: March 13, 2008 09:08:17 PM
I got this pattern from Naughty Needles by Nikol Lohr. It's called "Fembot", which I think is pretty appropriate.

If I were going to make it again, I'd make it a little longer; the straps, too. I've just recently started making things a little more complicated than different sized rectangles, so I'm pretty happy with it.
18 COOKING / Dessert / Lego cake! on: March 12, 2008 11:16:24 PM
I saw this cake on a craft blog somewhere and knew I had to make it for my bf's birthday.

I made a batch of cake batter and made a sheet cake and four cupcakes with it. I cut the tops of the cupcakes and after the cake had cooled, I dumped it out of the pan and cut it in half. I put one half on top of the other. I frosted the cupcakes, frosted the cake, and put the cupcakes on top. None of my cakes ever turn out looking like much, but I thought this was a pretty cute idea and wanted to share. Smiley
19 KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Knit bra and panties on: March 07, 2006 07:54:05 AM
Being modeled by my lovely couch, my first non-hat/scarf project!

20 IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Other Image Reproduction Techniques: Completed Projects / Springtime for Hitler on: February 11, 2006 10:06:20 AM
My boyfriend loved The Producers and his birthday is in about a week, so I did a little searching and found the image that I put on this shirt:
