2  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: A knitted uterus on: February 26, 2005 09:11:13 PM
we had a knit womb with a super man cape attached to the door of my dorm room...and just so i dont seem *quite* so odd, my schools +60% male (there are only 3 rooms on my floor housing females out of ~40 rooms). here, uterus=power.

hrm...one uterus to rule them all...i think i might need to make a ring of power for our door buddy.  god, im a dork
3  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Re: Avatar: Talk about craftiness! on: February 12, 2005 02:12:23 PM
my SO one day made a comment one day about how he was so akward in certain situations and the best analogy he could come up with was "like a puppy in a tuxedo" and loving that mental image, and how undeniably cute he is when he's out of his element (6' 4" black belt looking at me completely lost and desperate for help) I made an icon out of it and its stuck around for a while.
The dog was my dog when he was a puppy, and the tuxedo is a shrunk version of a stencil from making a tux t-shirt, the rest was from 5 min of tooling around in photoshop/image ready.
4  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Re: Maternity Scrubs? on: February 11, 2005 06:39:10 AM
scrubs are for the most part just drawstring/elastic waist pants, i dont really think you'd have a need to buy especially maternity ones, just try the next size or two up. There's a possibility of needing a maternity scrub top, but those you can find for under $20, which compaired to other maternity clothing is pretty cheap.  You should also have her check with her school/employer, my mother (former ER nurse) used to get deals through her hospital on all her scubs, shoes, ect.

If you'd rather try though to sew up your own set for her, most pattern companies have some sort of scrubs pattern.

specifically maternity scrubs (recomended by my cousin who's a visiting nurse, theyre also specifically maternity)

5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Re: clothes for new dress code? on: February 08, 2005 02:48:30 PM
i have beaters that i wear under a lot of my clothing because im not a fan of flashing my stomach and it's nearly impossible for me to find anything long enough (i'm 6' 4") and cause theyre white, you can leave them that way and they'll go with mosr anything, or dye them very easily into all sorts of colors.

i think this would be great, id have to dredge up some of my old stuff from the FFA, but I'd be up for rehashing my leather plating skills for some good clean fun.

8  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: Sock Monkey/Animal Swap?? on: January 26, 2005 09:33:10 AM
i don't believe there is a minimum, there would probably be more people if/when you post in the current swap catagory list the swap as being an open one and hopefully from there you'd get more people signed up.  And even if it stays small, that could work too, so if people were willing you could make three (or however many signed up) monkeys and get three back.

10  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Screen Printing: Discussion and Questions / Re: Heat press? on: January 21, 2005 07:22:48 AM
i worked at a friend of the families t-shirt shop for a couple summers, when he decided to go out of business (due to his wife/partners illness) in the pre-ebay days, he turned over the business to my mother to liquidate.  A bunch of the stuff didn't end up selling so he told us to just keep it.
