21  Handspun Brown and Green Plastic Yarn aka plarn in Spinning: Completed Projects by Crochooley on: October 29, 2009 08:19:30 AM

I'm a plarner so all my yarn is plastic yarn.

Since being introduced to the wonderful world of spinning by Rocket Yarn, I'm going crazy cutting and spinning.

Sharing my latest plastic yarn color combination.  I have a Louet Spinning Wheel and in just the short time I've had it, I have spun everything under the sun on it but fiber.

22  Pyramid Zipper Plarn (plastic yarn) Pouch with lining in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by Crochooley on: September 17, 2009 10:02:43 AM

Inspired by this Pyramid Pouch tutorial: http://www.craftster.org/blog/index.php?p=8
I sewed one of these for myself and decided to crochet me one using plarn and love it more than the one I sewed.

The plarn pouch is so much more durable.  Needless to say, this has been fantastic for me when I make that quick trip to the store.  I'm always running here and there and lugging my purse (what my husband calls my 'suitecase) can be a hassle.

23  My Eco Elegant two tone green plarn (plastic yarn) purse in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by Crochooley on: August 28, 2009 08:59:42 AM

Sharing my newest plarn purse - this purse was made from the vegetable/fruit bags you get at the grocery store.   It's so soft, you won't believe it's plastic yet strong and durable just like my other plarn purses/totes and market bags.

I have additional pictures of different views on my blog of this purse: http://plastiqrecreation.blogspot.com/

25  Plarn (plastic yarn) New York Yankee and Jacksonville Jaquars Pouches in Crochet: Completed Projects by Crochooley on: August 24, 2009 09:56:25 AM

I wanted to show everyone the crocheted pouches I made.  I love to make pouches of all sizes - carry as a keychain, as a wristlet for that quick trip to the store or to keep stuff organized in my bags.

I used vinyl lining on the inside for easy cleaning where I use to keep my makeup in or for a sandwich and vinyl lining on the outside to protect the fabric.

Thanks for looking

26  My Multi-Green Plarn Necklace in Crochet: Completed Projects by Crochooley on: August 19, 2009 09:16:56 AM

I came across this beautiful lightweight, multi-green plastic and after starting to work it it, decided it was the perfect enhancement to an outfit I had planned on wearing.  So I made a necklace out of it.

Still on this plastic ring kick, I crocheted alternating the white with green lettering plastic with the multi-green plastic.  Then connected the circles with jump rings.  It's big enough to fit over my neck but I also made it with a clasp.

27  My Plarn version of a placemat bag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by Crochooley on: August 19, 2009 09:04:16 AM

After seeing this placemat tutorial pattern: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=93668.0  I fell in love with the concept and decided to make one for myself.  This is my crochet version of it.

Here are some additional photos of it: http://plastiqrecreation.blogspot.com/

28  My newest plarn (plastic yarn) creation - Brown/White Placemat Plarn Bag in Crochet: Completed Projects by Crochooley on: August 13, 2009 09:00:39 AM
I think I have finally made a bag that suits my needs ... I've tried downsizing and it just didn't work.  But I just didn't want to carry around a suitcase.  I designed this bag from my favorite oval placemat pattern I created then just started to square up so to speak the corners.

The worst part about this project was sewing the zipper.  Don't know why but I find sewing a zipper to be challenging even with all the tutorials and youtube videos...  We just don't get along.

The circles at the base of each strap are the rings from a water bottle when you break the cap.  I wanted to give the bag an extra flair.

29  The 7-10 Split anyone can pick up in Crochet: Completed Projects by Crochooley on: June 08, 2009 03:30:01 PM
Hi -
My 19yr old son asked me to make a graduation gift for a female bowling friend.  And, of course, when I asked him to tell me alittle something about her so I could get ideas of what to make her, all I got was - she's a girl what more is there to say.   That was a big help.  I wanted to give her something bowling related so I just let my imagination run wild and make 1 bowling when led to making a bowling ball.  Somehow or another, 1 pin and 1 ball led to making this bag.

Hence, the birth of a 7-10 Split Plarn bag.  He gave it to her out in the parking lot so not to draw too much attention.  That didn't work because she ended up taking it into the bowling center and before the tournament started, showed it to EVERYONE.

Here's the lining I sewed into the bag, I tried to get closer but if I got too close, the image started to blur:

I wanted to share my craziness with my new found craft friends.  Hope you enjoy!!

Teresa
