1  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions / DARK BASEMENT? on: May 10, 2005 01:53:09 PM
hello. this is my first post b/c until now i've been too much in awe to post at all!!

but now i have a serious problem!  i live with my parents. i live in the basement and i have a craft/sewing/tv room in the basement as well. i've been living here for about 3 years and until now the darkness hasn't really bothered me. now with summer here (in ottawa at least? is everyone else boiling?)  the basement is dark all the time and zaps me of my motivation. makes me just want to sleep w/ a fan blowing on me. all i have is two tiny windows in my bedroom at the very ceiling (ground level) .

the summer makes me want to run around and ride my bike and create, but then whenever i want to craft or read, i am plunged into darkness! it's effing depressing.

what kinds of things can i do to imitate sunlight? does anybody have any suggestions? like in i think the most recent readymade they had a little idea where you paint the shadow of a sunlit window onyour wall? also, what types of lamps are good at pretending to be sunshine? that kind of thing!  ANY decor ideas that you think would help are much appreciated!!

thanks!
