1  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / Re: Electroplating, DIY machines or a place to order one... on: September 02, 2009 06:55:14 AM
I had already seen that tutorial as well (I researched for months before I actually purchased mine) but found that the other was more helpful since there were more step by step process pictures.

here is a site where you can buy your solution and anodes but I find that if doing non metal objects that you can buy smaller quantities of the conductive paint on ebay

This is the amp I have though, I found I didnt have to have the 18 that the 10 worked fine

Hope this helps you out.

Here is a great tutorial for electroplating items, this particular one shows a non metal object but with a metal object you would just skip straight to the plating and not have to use metal paint and lacquer.

I bought my amp for around $200 off ebay and it has served me well.  Good luck in your venture.

Thank you all for all your wonderful comments.  I have just recently started metal working and my skills are still developing.  But all of my pieces are hand cut and my bezels are hand made as well

I lust... I lust for your rings, your ability and mostly for the third (?) one down on the left side?  Dare I hope you're selling it, and that you'll let me pay you then hold onto it for three months til I get back from my study abroad?  I only partially kid Cheesy

Thank you!!  Your making me blush ^_^  The third one down on the left is a bangle bracelet in sterling silver and I do have a website where I sell my stuff.  That one however hasnt made it to the site yet but I expect to have in on it a day or so.  It is solid sterling silver so its a little price ($120)  But I do have a copper and brass one that is similar for $60.
