21  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Back to school with a squid! on: September 08, 2009 12:39:48 PM
You know when little sisters are stealing your bags to go to school? Then you have to make a cool new school bag, so they won't steal yours anymore.

Here is the finished result:

This is a closeup on the squid.

And a zipper from her old schoolbag that died after only two weeks and that one was storebought.

Hope you'll like it.

23  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Marauder's Crochet Map on: July 26, 2009 01:49:40 PM
I am absolutely in love with the Marauders map. I actually don't know why, but out of all Harry Potter related crafts, I've crafted things related to the Marauders Map the most.

And since I want to learn how to crochet, I needed a needle case for my crochet hooks. So instead of focusing on how to crochet something I made a needle roll. The fact it was based on the Marauder's Map has everything to do with my excitement for the Harry Potter Swap that is now open for entry. It's my first swap and all.

But without further ado, here are the somewhat crappy photo's..

This is the front.

Without the string.

Folded open.

I used a white cotton and dyed it with Tea and Coffee and then drew the Marauder's Map on by hand with a fabric marker.
It is quite small, so in comparison to the real Map there are somethings missing, but I still like it!
24  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Stupid creatures on: July 26, 2009 01:34:03 PM
After seeing a Threadbanger episode with John Murphy from Stupid Creatures, where he showed how to make your own stupid creature, I started right away.

The Stupid creature was a big hit with my brother and sister that I had to make another one to keep my sister satisfied and still I haven't got one myself.

Here they are together.

This is the first one I made. It is now adopted by my younger brother.

And this is the second one I made and is adopted by my younger sister.
25  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Harry Potter Swap round number ??? on: July 14, 2009 12:24:45 PM
With the upcoming release of the newest movie of Harry Potter it might be nice to organize another HPswap.

To be honest I just want a Harry Potter Swap to be my first and so I can't organize one myself, but are there other people and possible organisers game?
26  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / A Nightmare before Christmas Skirt. (picture heavy) on: June 27, 2009 07:58:01 AM
Well, I wanted a tNbC skirt, but seeing as I can't get any fabric here in the netherlands, I decided to make my own. So I've watched tNbC another thousand times, so I could draw from pictures some of my favorite characters, which happens to be almost everybody. Searched the internet for a gazillion pictures and made my boyfriend go to the craftshop everyday to get me new fabric markers.  It took me 3 nights to color it all. And even though it shows on the pictures that it's colored with a pen IRL it looks remotely all one color and not really stripey.

And this is the result.

And every other angle:

Because I don't like the elastic waistband a lot, I'm still planning on making some sort of waistband to cover it up. but it is wearable now. Tongue`
27  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Zombie apron on: June 21, 2009 02:50:41 PM
Because of discovering and browsing Craftster, I'm in a crafty mood lately and decided because I had a lot of birthdays coming up this summer, that I would make everybody something nice. I already made an American Mcgee's Alice bag for a friend of mine and the next birthday coming up was that of my little brother.

of course I had to make something special. Last year he moved into his own apartment, but is still missing some essentials for in his kitchen, like scales and matching plates and stuff like that. So I bought the scales for him and went for an apron to spice the present a little up.

I didn't want to make a simple apron because personally I think that would've been boring and after shopping with him and my dad I noticed he liked a zombie shirt very much. Alas it was too expensive, so I made him a Zombie apron, which he hopefully would like as well. I used the same colors as the shirt and gave it a little twist.

This is the apron:

I first drew a basic shape of the head and and hand with pencil on white fabric already cut out in an apron shape. And then started splashing with some fabric paint in different colours of green and red and many other colors.

After it dried I gave the head more detail and color with fabric crayons and ironed it so it would stay on, whenever he throws it in the washingmachine. And then finished sewing the apron.
28  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / American Mcgee's Alice bag on: June 11, 2009 10:43:50 AM
A friend of mine is soon celebrating her birthday and since she likes American Mcgee's Alice a lot I decided to make a bag for her with Alice and the Cheshire cat from that game. I searched google for a picture of the game, so I could go from there.

This is the endresult and I hope she will like it as much as I do.

29  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / A Gothic lolita inspired handbag. on: June 05, 2009 07:11:03 AM
This is the first time I'm posting a project here and I'm a little nervous as well.

The first time I heard and saw Gothic Lolita I fell in love, but since I don't think it would look very good on me, I decided to dress my little sister up as a dolly. But before I started with the clothes I decided to make a little bag first. Just inspired by the look. It didn't come out completely the way I wanted, because the lace is a little to long for my preference. It tends to look a little bulky instead of all cute and stuff, but still I wanted to share it.

Here are the pictures.

And a closeup of the bunny.

I hope you like it, my sister did.
