I couldn't find a pattern for the collar so I just tried something. I wasn't that difficult. Just sew your strips of pattern on the strapping, add the bias tape on both sides. Cut off a tiny piece of strapping and sew one the back side with the D-ring between it.

35  Re: Key cords (or for anything else that will dangle) in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by Marieke B. on: May 24, 2009 12:27:02 AM
You will need:

appr. 70-80 cm strapping
70-80 cm fabric as wide as the strap is
160-180 cm bais tape
a parachute clip
a carabin hook

Use a match or lighter to melt the ends of the strapping so it won't raffle.

Sew the fabric strip on the strapping. Sew as close to the edges as possible.

Now sew the bias tape on both sides.

Take parachute clip and pull a piece of bias tape through one side. Place the bias tape between the two ends of the strap. Sew the two ends of the strap together with the bias tape in between. Using fabric glue wrap a piece of bias tape or ribbon around the ends.

Attach the carabin hook to the other end of the parachute clip and sew it together.

38  Retro apron for my cake baking sister (how-to) in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by Marieke B. on: May 23, 2009 12:57:47 PM
My sister makes beautiful cakes so I made this apron for her. It's based on an apron my mother in law made when she was 12.

I made a how-to here: http://www.cutoutandkeep.net/projects/apron_for_my_cake_baking_sister

Then mum liked it so much I made one for her too:

And both got matching slippers:
