3  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects / more soap on: March 04, 2010 09:12:32 AM
This is made with olive oil base, boiled orange, ginger, lemongrass, and meyer lemons and voila! Yummy smelling soap! It's not as pretty in the photos as my lavender, but IRL it's super cool, you can see citrus zest and lemongrass bits..
4  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects / Lavender and a hint of mint soap on: February 21, 2010 11:14:19 AM
I really love how this soap turned out! It's got shea butter, lavender, and a tiny amount of mint. I used fresh dried lavender (homegrown) and instead of buying any scent oils, I simmered lavender and a few mint leaves ( i don't buy airfreshener, I always have something simmering) So I decided to start keeping the scented water! Frugality is awesome!

And here it is!

Anywho..if there is any interest I'd be happy to organize maybe sign ups in april. I'd like to keep it to maybe 1 med 1 small if that's cool.

6  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Yummy curry throw together dinner on: February 17, 2010 06:48:29 AM
I made this for dinner last night and I just kind of "cleaned" out the fridge.
Recipe..sort of Wink
1 lb chicken thighs- fat trimmed
about 1/4 cup fennel stalk diced
handfull of fresh (not dried) shitake mushrooms
1 tblspn lemongrass
1/2 cup nappa cabbage
some red bell pepper (it needed color)
and of course green curry paste..that you just do to tast..I used half the jar:)

I sauteed the chicken with some sesame oil and fish sauce, cooked until it was done and added everything else. Let it cook about 10 minutes or so and laid that yummy stuff on top of some Jasmine rice and it was one of the best quick meals!!

Action shot of my plate piled high Grin
