1  Halloween Crochet Coasters & Spider Web in Halloween Decor and Parties by InebriatedKnitting on: October 26, 2010 11:56:57 AM
I'm hosting my first Halloween party and I wanted to make some coasters for everyone's drinks.  Plus I had a little table that I wanted to cover with a web.  I found a pattern for the spider web that worked out really well (http://www.crochetdoilies.com/crochet_halloween_web.html).  I used Vanna White's glimmer/glitter yarn.  For the candy corn coasters I made my own pattern after looking at a few designs online.  I used more Vanna yarn (I have a stock pile of it right now from future projects to-be-done).  C & C's welcome...  Happy Halloween!

For the candy corn coasters, my basic pattern (and I do not write patterns, so this might make sense only to me.  I can write it out better if people really want to know) was:
Chain 2
Stitch 3 st into 1st chain, turn
Single stitch in each stitch, turn
Stitch 2 sts into 1st st, 1 st into 2nd st, 2sts into 3rd st, chain 1, turn
Single stitch in every stitch, chain 1, turn
and from there I just increased every other row by 2 stitches (1 stitch added to each end)
I chained colors after every 6 rows.

Have fun this Halloween!

2  What's Shakin' Bacon? in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by InebriatedKnitting on: October 16, 2009 04:41:29 PM

What's Shakin' Bacon?

I'm going to be an Auntie!  And as one of my first gifts to my new niece (she's due to arrive Nov. 19th) I made her a stuffed Squitty!  He's the squid/kitty from the movie Coraline  Cheesy

It was a whole lot easier than I thought it'd be.  I had to make him in pink yarn to fit the parents' vision, and I was nervous about putting a button on a toy so I crocheted that instead (obviously--you can see that from the picture)

I just love all of the other Coraline crafts on here, so I had to share my own  Cheesy  Thanks for lookin'!
