1  Re: Avengers Assemble! Gallery in The Swap Gallery by saucyimp on: July 15, 2012 07:51:25 AM
So I actually got my package from Usagi-chan on Thursday night but I haven't had a chance to post it yet because of the busy weekend! No matter... On with the pics!

Here's the package that everything came in. Pretty simple and straight forward..Little did I know the awesomeness that awaited inside! Oh my goodness she spoiled me so much!

She included this adorable card with a tiny cross-stitched Capt America on the front!

I also got 4 amazing glass etched tumblers. They are so amazing. Unfortunately two were broken on arrival, they had Thor's Hammer and Tony's arc reactor symbol on them. Don't you hate it when packages aren't handled carefully? I feel terrible because the work looked so beautiful and I'm sure she worked very hard. I do have pictures of the two that made it though: Captain America's shield & S.H.E.I.L.D's symbol.

She also included a little blue box with Thor, Iron Man, and Captain America on the front.

And inside...a tiny Thor! Tehehehe! This will have to sit on my desk of course.

My boyfriend got an AWESOME pair of Iron Man cufflinks. He was so excited/thrilled because he might have an interview for a new job next week and he's totally going to wear them to the interview!

A cross stitched magnet I'm going either put on the metal part of my desk or on my fridge.

A lovely Captain America necklace/earring set I wore as soon as I opened it. Squeee!!

A Thor necklace I wore last night and already got a bunch of compliments on! More Squeee!

A letter "K" with Thor images all over it which I also love!

Finally here's a picture of everything together:

Thank you, thank you, thank youuuuuu!!!! I love everything I've received!! This package was amazing!

2  Re: OTT Game of Thrones Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by saucyimp on: September 21, 2011 07:53:15 PM
I finally got my package today from MerryGlas and all I can say is WOW!! I'm blown away by her talent! Warning: this post is super picture heavy!

Here's the package everything came in.

It felt so cool to get a package with a sticker saying "Royal Mail".

And here's the OTT. It's a paper cut of Dani at the end of Game of Thrones with her dragons emerging from the fire.

It says "The fire is mine". It's so amazing, I adore it! MerryGlas, you are so incredibly talented. I can't wait to get a frame for it. I hope to buy one tomorrow so I can hang it up immediately in my room. Smiley

She also included a bookmark of House Tyrell with their sigil and motto. So cool!

She also included a fabric bookmark featuring the sigil of House Stark. Here's a closeup of the bookmark. Sorry it's all blurry.

She also made a bookmark for my boyfriend addressing some speculation regarding a certain character. (Yes, I figured out what it is. Wink ) He loves the bookmark, he was super excited when he saw it.

Along with all of these goodies, she included a very sweet letter and different types of teas. I'm drinking one of them right now. It's the "after dinner" tea and it's very tasty. Here's one last picture of everything...

Thank you so much MerryGlas! You are seriously the best swap partner I've ever had. I feel so spoiled. If you ever want to swap again, I'd love to do so!

3  "Ehhh....." Tina from Bob's Burgers in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by saucyimp on: September 01, 2011 09:59:18 PM
So one of my dear friends moved to Chicago so as a going away present, I made her one of her favorite characters in the world: Tina from Fox's "Bob's Burgers". If you haven't seen the show, please do so, it's hilarious. I started Tina in early July but I didn't finish her until this past Sunday. My friend had already left for Chicago in mid July but fortunately, she was in town this evening so I was able to give it to her in person! And now that she has it, I can actually post pictures!!

She came out to be about 14 inches tall if not a bit more. I'm not in love with her feet but I really like her face.

She looks a bit bald around her hair clip but I hadn't put the hair in it's proper place.

Here's a picture of her face! My friend really loved her and I was really proud. I appreciate all comments and feedback!

4  Pokemon Munna amigurumi in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by saucyimp on: July 16, 2011 10:51:40 AM

I've been on here for a while but I've never posted much of my work so I'm trying to change that. I made Munna back in May but I haven't had any time to post this until now due to moving into a new apt, vacation, and my grandmother's death, wake, and funeral. (Whew!) In any case, here's the psychic pokemon Munna from the new Pokemon Black/White series. I attended the local anime con Animazement this year and I submitted this at the Art Auction. (In keeping with the pokemon theme, I cosplayed as Chikorita. Wink) Here's how she turned out...(sorry for the blurry pictures!)

I was extremely proud of her. (I dunno why I insist on calling her a she, it just feels appropriate) She was nearly 1 and a half feet long and probably 10-12 inches wide. She was pretty big. When I was submitting her, I felt like I was entering a pig into the county fair.

There is something of a pattern for it but I need to edit it a bit more and make some notes. Let me know what you all think! I'd love the feedback. (Btw, I did include the lighter colored oval on the front of her nose. It's just difficult to see in these photos)

5  Re: Halloween Swap 2010 GALLERY in The Swap Gallery by saucyimp on: October 14, 2010 07:13:01 AM
Okay, so I would have posted sooner but I was horribly horribly sick this past weekend and then on top of that, I had a lot of improv comedy rehearsals and of course my full-time job. Anyway, here's what I got with lots and lots of pictures because she sent me lots and lots of wonderful things! I apologize ahead of time with the many many pictures I'm going to post here.

So even though I felt really crappy, I seriously couldn't wait to open the box. I think you definitely used enough tape. I can get paranoid too so, that's fine!

Candy Corn Hat! I thought it was hat but it is a bit too big. But I can probably pin it or do something to make it fit. I didn't take an action shot because I was not in a photogenic mood.

Ahhh! Loved this!! It's a coffin box with my name on it. So, so cool! And inside was this cameo owl necklace, which I adore. I loved the droplet of blood.  I had to do a show later that night playing a crazed environmental activist/feminist so I wore it to the show. It was perfect for my costume.

Another coffin box painted green and purple which I love together plus blood on it and inside were these colored wood cutouts that are awesome. I have to figure out how I'm going to use them to decorate but they're fantastic.

I'm assuming these were made out of poly clay and if so omg, you're awesome. The first picture has a cake with a knife in it. The knife had broken off when I opened it but that's what glue is for. She also made Jack Skellington and a pumpkin which are both awesome!

Crocheting/Knitting needles holder! Yay! I had wanted one of these recently so thank you thank you! This is fantastic!

Blue grocery bag with a ghost! Yay!!! Again -- I seriously needed a grocery bag so this is amazing. I don't know how you figured out all this stuff to make that I needed but man, it's awesome.

Ghost pillow! YAY!! This is my favorite for sure because it's so soft, squishy and comfortable. I used it a ton when I was lying in bed being sick so thank you!!

Oogie Boogie from Nightmare Before Christmas for my boyfriend! He was so stoked, I'm actually kinda jealous at how awesome this thing is. Brilliant brilliant work! This is a picture of him holding it up.

Close-up shot of Oogie Boogie!

I also received two painted tiles but for some reason, I don't have those pictures on me right now to upload. I'll post them later. Thank you so much ShiloDisease. Everything you made was unbelievable. I loved it and you were a fantastic partner! If you want, I can post the pictures I took of the stuff I sent you if you're worried people didn't see everything!

So my partner appears to be AWOL so I'm going to go ahead and post pictures of what I sent him. (Hope you're okay Propaganda!  Embarrassed Please please feel free to post pictures when you get a chance!) Anyways, here we go...

First off, I made him an Electabuzz ami since that was his absolute favorite!

This guy was kinda tricky with all the felt but I think he turned out pretty good.

Next, I made him a DS case from the pattern by WolfDreamer which you can find here: http://wolfdreamer-oth.blogspot.com/2010/05/ds-game-carrying-case.html But I modified it a bit to make it look like Raikou!

Here's the face, again done with felt. Sorry it's not the best picture in the world. Hopefully Propaganda will post some better ones when he can!

Here's the back with his distinctive stripes. I also put these on the inside of the case pockets.

As for the small item..I made him a small Smeargle figurine out of polymer clay that sits on top of a paint brush.

I consider myself pretty much a novice when it comes to polymer clay but I think this turned out okay. His feet curled when I put him in the oven but he sits on top of the paintbrush nicely...

Those are all of the crafted items I included. I sent some non-craft goodies like a mix CD of classical music/opera since he said he really loved both. (Some of those songs I actually performed myself, Max!) I also included a pack of pokemon trading cards and some candy....I hadn't realized someone else had included that in their package until after I sent it and saw it on the board. I swear I wasn't trying to be an idea thief!  Lips sealed

In any case, hope you liked the package Max. I look forward to hearing from you!

So, I got my stuff on Thursday from Propaganda but Thurs, Fri, and Sat have been crazy busy for me so I didn't have time to post until now! Sorry Max!  Lips sealed WARNING: THIS POST IS SEVERELY OBESE WITH PICTURES

When I came home Thursday, I was a bit irritated and exhausted having been at work all day. But when I saw this sitting on my bed, I instantly perked up:

I love all the little notes Propaganda wrote to me in the package. I realized as soon as I sent mine off that I forgot a letter! My bad! I'll have to send Max a follow up letter! The notes here only heightened the mystery and excitement of the package. Here's the awesome/sweet letter that was with everything:

And now, on to the goodies!! First, I got this awesome AWESOME bandana:

It has Mareep stenciled in every corner and a giant pokeball in the middle painted by Propaganda's own little cousin which looks great! Here's a close up of the adorable Mareep in each corner:

What's great about this is I had just cut my hair short on Monday and I was wondering how I would be able to pull my hair back. This happened to be just the thing I needed! Here's a picture of me with the bandana (Sorry for the semi-creepy look on my face!)

However, my absolute favorite thing is THIS....

ORIGIN FORM GIRATINA! YAY!! As a joke I had asked for a plushie Giratina because I thought it would be hilarious to own a plushie of the most terrifying Lovecraft-like pokemon ever. Propaganda, being the amazing person he is, took that challenge and made this wonderful guy -- HALF BY HAND.  Shocked To say that I am impressed is a severe understatement. He's HUGE, about two feet long! The amount of work and details that went into him is astounding. Max even included the Griseous Orb:

My boyfriend and I were completely and utterly amazed by this. I could go on and on with praises, but instead, here's a pic of my bf making Giratina act like a facehugger from "Aliens"...

Propaganda also gave me a Hoothoot figurine and some candy

Now, to be honest, according to the letter Propaganda wrote me, there were supposed to be charms in here as well but I couldn't find them in the box... Lips sealed I'm sure it was an honest mistake and really, I feel spoiled enough as is! I'm not worried at all and I'm sure he'll send them very very soon. Regardless, BRAVO MAX! I absolutely adored everything you sent me! You have been an amazing partner and I would love to do another trade with you! You went above and beyond what I expected. I can only hope you like everything I sent you as much as I LOVE everything you sent me. Thank you thank you thank you!  Grin
