1  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Grandchildren Cross Stitch on: December 26, 2014 05:13:17 AM
I made this pixel people cross stitch for my mother in law for Christmas.  It has all 9 of her grandchildren and their birthdays listed.

I only thought of it on the 15th of December so it was a bit of a rush drawing the pattern, choosing the colours and then stitching it as fast as I could in amongst all the other christmas stuff I was doing, but it turned out great. I just wish I'd taken better lit photos!

2  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Cross Stitch Project Bag on: September 29, 2013 04:05:12 AM
The other day I decided that I needed something better than a shopping bag to cart my cross stitch projects around in, so I sewed this zippered pouch.  It turned out pretty well considering I was making it up as I went along, and I only had a couple of hours to do it in because I wanted to use it that night.

The finished bag is approximately 12 and a half inches wide, by 13 and a half long.

It's big enough to hold an A4 clipboard, a 9" hoop and the case full of my threads etc
(My current project is a Christmas stocking for one of my kids in case you're wondering)

It's a bit hard to see, but I put a divider in there to keep my hoop separate from everything else so it doesn't get dirty, and there's a pocket on there to put my highlighter and scissors etc in so they're not just floating around in the bottom of the bag.

And this is how it looks with everything in it!

If I make another one I think I'd make it a half inch taller, because it's just a teensy bit tight to zip up when I put the thread case in (I was silly and forgot to factor in how deep the box is into my measurements). But apart from that it's pretty much exactly what I needed so I'm happy Cheesy
