1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: WE BELIEVE: The Cryptozoology Swap: Gallery! on: October 15, 2009 05:23:57 PM
I just got my package and Martha's went above and beyond on this one!  Everything was great and I can't wait to put everything to good use.

Here are some pics of all my goodies.

This is a pic of everything I got.

Next is a really cool book all about cryptids and a one-of-a-kind necklace with a pegasus and the quote, "there's no such thing as grown-ups"  (Love the saying!)

Here is a kitchen pic for the fridge that says, "WHat's Kracken in the kitchen?"  haha and a mermaid necklace made with great colors, and the background is a shopping/tote/book bag with giant squid tentacles.

A close-up of the bag.  Awesome colors and fabric!

And finally...an awesome, fantastic, amazing quilt/wall hanging with some of my favorite cryptids.  The pic is a closeup of my favorite cryptid of all time...BIGFOOT!

Once again, thanks to my partner.  YOu did a fantastic job!

As far as strong childhood smells go, who else remembers your Strawberry Shortcake doll's head?

my little sister was obsessed with strawberry shortcake and tons of toys, etc.  we teased her, but...when no one was looking my brother and i would sniff her doll's head..hahahaha  i can't believe i remembered that! i guess many memories are associated with smells, especially childhood ones.  and i still love the smell of play-doh.  how about a brand new box of unsharpened pencils? i love that smell too.

I gave the kids the option of reading or learning to crochet little blankets for a local no-kill cat shelter. Most of the kids tried the crochet, but a few kept on reading!

this is awesome!  i don't understand people who don't like to read but i guess maybe they don't understand why i don't like something they are into.  but to give the kids that choice, both being productive choices, is fantastic.
