Everyone made such great cards for this swap!

And here are the last two that I received:

a fabric/ sewn card from Fenore - isn't it just gorgeous? I love the colours in it!

and this super lovely mask themed card from SecretAgentStarchild!

Thanks so much!

So I got some GREAT atcs this past week! I should note that because I use a flatbed scanner, the cards look fuzzy in places because they are 3-D. I assure you that they are really something when you can see all of the 3-D aspects to them.

Oyhana's arrived last week (but my scanner was not working, but now it is) and she sent me two (2!) on my kimono theme. They are so scrumptious! The origami is such a perfect medium for a kimono. You also have such beautiful paper - it really brings to mind the hand painting done on silk kimonos!

Then just this morning I got my fashion card from shelina - check out the detail on this card! Little pearl buttons, whe managed to line up the flowers on the bodice and skirt of the dress, and the hanger is a scream.

Aaah - I love this swap, and you are all amazing!

I got a very pretty card from thelastkodama today - it is my water theme!

and it came in the most amazing envelope made from a page of a calendar - that's a great idea. I will have to do that with my old calendars!

The coffee card is fabulous!

I'm so glad that people like their cards - and who doesn't love Yellow Submarine! I love those paper envelopes - they come in a pad and I carry it with me so I can always write a letter no matter where I am. Cheesy I have catwoman and star trek ones too.
I have a scan of the fairy card before it was shipped for a better colour representation.

Hi all,
I got my card from Krafty Karasu yesterday and boy do I love it! I've been obsessed with dinosaurs since I was small but have never seen a cross stitched one before.
Here it is:

Check out those perfect stitches. Check out those bones! Gorgeous.

The cello card that I made for yell0w is an illustration. I use india ink then I watercolour painted the colours in. I'm glad that people like it!

I just received blupaisan's card for me today - boy do I love it!

Here is the card on the theme of "animals with wings that normally don't"

and I just have to say that this is such a great illustration - and the idea of the real feathers for wings is so lovely. I love the idea of the little insects taking Slow but Steady Airlines.

Here is another card that was added in just for fun - what a pretty card.

And the card that they came in was this cat:

Who looks JUST LIKE one of my cats - facial expression and everything! Incredible.

Thank you so much blupaisan

27  Watercolour Paintings - turned into Coasters in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by sabrinalouisemiller on: January 18, 2010 08:16:29 PM
I began making Artist Trading Cards a few months ago to practice my watercolours. This worked, and now I paint watercolour all of the time!

While shopping for Christmas presents this year I came across these coasters that you were suppossed to put a photo into. Instead, I put in miniature paintings of birds. It was a real shame that I only found one set of these coasters because everyone was super jealous of the recipient. If anyone knows where I can get more in Canada please let me know!

Here is the set:

And the birds are
Chickadee

Cardinal

English Robin

Bluebird

Here they are in the case that comes with the coasters.

Cheers, and thanks for looking!

28  ATCs - a new addiction! - updated gallery Sept 15th in Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) by sabrinalouisemiller on: January 13, 2010 09:52:02 AM
At the insistence of a friend I started making and trading ATCs a few months ago (edit, now almost a year ago). Boy is it ever fun! (But most people know that already.)

-Update Sept 15 2010-
Okay, here are some new cards that I've been making for the past few months. Unfortunately for gallery browsers, these are all traded. Wink When I get some new cards made I'll try to remember to post them here. These are all ink and watercolour, sometimes with a hint of gouache:

Rainbow Unicorns

Masquerade

a card for a Black and White themed swap, entitled "Dress"

Little Red Riding Hood

Flower Horse

The Zipper

Three cards for a Nudes with Accessories swap theme.

and Purple Hair (which is kind of the same idea, but less breasts)

and three cards for a Science Fiction swap theme - I called them "Don't Leave Home Without It!"

-update Feb 19th-
Here are some other cards that I've been working on. Just a sample, as I've made too many to post all of them here!
They are ink and watercolour. Jewellry girl has some gold acrylic on her jewelry, but you don't see that in the scan. Sometimes the scanner washes these out, but oh well, they look good enough to post.

Junko Bird

The Peacock and the Pea

Sweet Tooth Cake

Jewellry Girl Series 2/3

Cello - for yell0wbright for the ongoing January swap

Winterwear Series 2/3

Winterwear Series 4/4

In the Flower Garden - this one has a cream background, but the scanner read it as blue-ish. meh

Rose Garden

Thanks for looking! Most of these are traded, but if you want to trade then PM me!
preg_replace('/(.{49})/', '$1 ', '_________________________________________________________________')

Here are some of my favorite that I've made. They are all Ink and Watercolour.

Feeling Blue

Yellow - Available

Hand

Green Thumb

Zipper Sunrise

Bear Suit

Iron

My Dinosaur - Available

Feeling Purple

A Heart for You

If you are up for a trade PM me! I have a lot of extra time right now and can make special requests fairly quickly.
