1  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions / Something that smells good that's NOT lavender? on: April 17, 2010 01:07:33 PM
Hello!  So I've been feeling an urge to make some air fresheners/sachet bags, but I don't know what to put inside of them that will maintain a good smell.  It seems like every project like this that I find online uses dried lavender, but for whatever I can't stand the smell of the stuff.  Anyone have any suggestions for something else that I can use?  Thanks!

Here's a pillow that I made to show my dino love.  It's a T-Rex skeleton, and the text underneath says "GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN".

Thanks so much for looking!

EDIT 3/25:

So I just finished and photographed another pillow I did with the same design but new colors.  Here it is:

Hey, guys!  I haven't posted in a while, but here's a pillow that I finished a while ago.  I took the picture instructions for making classic origami cranes and made them into a flowchart-type image ending in the final result.  So, here it is:

Questions/Comments/Criticisms appreciated!

EDIT 3/25:
So I made a new pillow featuring the same design but with a new color scheme:

Thanks so much for the kind words!  Unfortunately, I no longer have the pattern that I used originally, but I basically just played around with an image that I found online.

Thanks so much for the kind words, guys!

So this is a set of five felt coasters that I recently made.  Each one has a different facial hair style embroidered on a piece of felt.  There is a layer of interfacing, and it is all hand-stitched to a felt backing.

Comments and criticisms welcome!

Here's a pillow that I made recently.  It is actually the second one of these that I have made, but unfortunately I sold the first one before I was able to take any pictures.  Anyway, here it is:

Thanks for looking!
10  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Regretsy pillow on: January 24, 2010 02:47:14 PM
I am notorious among friends for giving horrendously late (and somewhat bizarre) presents, so it was no surprise that I just now finished this pillow for my friend as a holiday present.  She is a fellow fan of the website Regretsy, and is also focusing on women's studies (among other things) at school.  So, I decided to embroider her a pillow featuring a quote that appeared on Regretsy as a google-translated quote from a foreign review of the website.  Here it is:

In case it's difficult to read, the yellow text says: "All will be the better with a vagina.  The more and larger, the better it is."
