I have never seen anything like this! I have been looking at thrift stores and shops for just the right purse to take with me on a trip to down town San Francisco for my brother-in-law's wedding. Maybe I will try to make one like this. I think I have a skirt packed away I could use. I like the way you did the lining so that the skirt could stay flow-y. If you want to, I'd love to have you submit it for my Mothers Day gift idea contest. The details are on the Mothers Day page of my site. ...My wheels are turning and I'm trying to imagine all the different kinds of skirts at the thrift store you could do this with - leather anyone? ---Mel, the Gift Girl

I have never seen a soap with the loofah in it! I love loofah, even for things like washing dishes. Like someone else said, it looks like a cool nature pattern (which I guess it is!) and makes a very unique gift idea. I'd love to have you submit it for my Mothers day gift idea contest, which runs through the end of May. The contest info is on my Mothers Day page, if you are interested. And by the way, for a novice soap person like me, your designs are pretty fancy! ---Mel, the Gift Girl

Paint a clay pot or other container with chilies or tomatoes and then plant a miniature variety in the pot for mom to enjoy.
You could have the seedlings started a few weeks earlier and just use stencils for the pots. For that matter, you could even use large tin cans and paint them bright colors.

EVERYONE needs to hear why they are special and why they are loved! I think its a great idea and very appropriate for a daughter to a father - or step father. You could also do: the car windshield garage door shower curtain/door trail of post it notes through the house fridge inside of closet door

You could take a small blank book and decorate it with nascar stickers or whatever you think he will like. Then go around to friends and family...even acquaintances and ask them to write in the book "What I respect about (your dad's name):" and then whatever each person wants to say. ---Mel
