1  Travel Wallet in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by Ammonite on: August 12, 2009 02:36:30 PM
Hi everyone,
I'm off on my summer hols soon so in preparation I made myself a travel wallet to keep everything organised! I used the pattern from 'Adorn Magazine' with instructions found on http://glass-beach.blogspot.com/2009/01/passport-wallet-instructions.html (the link to the pattern is also on this page).
I love how it's turned out though it tested my machine as the layers build up towards the end! I've never made something this fiddly before - I may even dare to try a wallet next!
C & C welcome  Smiley

2  Margaret Bag with zip in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by Ammonite on: August 03, 2009 02:28:22 PM
My Mum saw my first attempt at Oh Fransson's Margaret Bag (http://www.ohfransson.com/oh_fransson/2008/11/margaret-sling-bag.html) a few weeks ago and asked if I could make one for her Birthday but with a zip, so I came up with this! I simply added in panels for the zip in the top seam of the bag which works very well!
I've used a heavy linen effect brown cotton for the outer and lined it with a polka dot cotton. I also took the opportunity to try my hand at a fabric flower (http://sewritzytitzy.blogspot.com/2008/11/from-annas-gardenfabric-flower-tutorial.html) which I've seen many lovely examples of on here recently!
C&C welcome  Smiley

The bag with the fabric flower (I added a brooch pin to the back of the flower so it can be re-positioned)

The zip closure and polka dot lining!

Sorry for the not too great pics!

3  Messenger Bag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by Ammonite on: May 21, 2009 08:53:17 AM
Hiya,
I've been very bust recently having been inspired by several recent threads! This is my most recent creation, I used heart of Mary's tutorial (http://pinoyinoz.blogspot.com/2008/07/tutorial-messenger-bag-with-zip-top.html) for most of the bag, I did not include a back pocket however and I had no magnetic snaps so had to use velcro instead! Sewing through so many layers broke a needle or two on my machine but the end result was worth it! The main fabric is a cream linen, and I used Amy Butler's Belle 'Corriander' fabric for the flap. It's lined in a spotty brown cotton. C & C appreciated xxx

4  (Yet another!) Buttercup Bag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by Ammonite on: May 13, 2009 10:34:27 AM
Hello  Smiley
I wanted to share my latest creation - a buttercup bag I've made for my Sister's birthday. As recommended by several users I enlarged the pattern by 125%, and I added a button loop rather than the magnetic snap. The original pattern can be found here ... http://madebyrae.blogspot.com/2009/02/free-buttercup-bag-sewing-pattern.html
C & C appreciated, thanks xxx

5  My Margaret Bag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by Ammonite on: May 04, 2009 03:55:12 PM
Hi all,
I'm been crafting for a few years now but this is my first proper attempt at making a bag! I chose to try the 'Margaret Bag' by Oh Fransson (http://www.ohfransson.com/oh_fransson/2008/11/margaret-sling-bag.html) and modified it to have a zippered pocket inside (this did cause a few problems when it came to doing the pleat in the lining!). Anyhows, here are a couple of pics - I'd love to hear what you think Smiley
Thanks xxx
