231  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Cupcake pick flags! ^_^ (With in-process pics) on: August 02, 2011 10:07:52 AM
I made these like 2 months ago but I've been too busy to post them 'til now.

I made these for a fundraiser for a couple friends of mine. One went to Japan for a month and the other has moved to England for 6 months. They're made with red, white and blue cardstock that I cut and glued together. I made about 60 in all; 35 British flags and 35 Japanese flags.

Progress pics!

The blue base. If I remember correctly this is about an inch by an inch and a half:

The white layer:

The red layer half done:

All Finished!

The leftovers ^_^

The Japanese flags. (Forgive the crappy picture quality >.<)

For the Japanese flags I used a 3/4"(?) circle punch.

I'm not sure how well the bake sale part of the fundraiser went as I kind of made the cupcakes and flags then left the next day for a month. But in the end they both raised all the funding they needed. ^_^

She comes apart for easy cleaning.

That's got to be the best part right there! I would've thought you were kidding if not for the pic! Now I want a Happy Blender too! Seriously, my roommate would get a kick out seeing a little Happy Blender in our kitchen. (long story) ^_^

OK. If the metal piece surrounding the button in the middle is an earring, I think I have the other one. lol!

I like mixed media and would be up for trying it if I knew what to do with the finished piece... Your piece came out really interesting! I like it ^_^

I think I want to try something like this... I've been wanting to do some "exploratory art" as I call it. I like the idea of taking an idea and creating art around it but it's kind of daunting. I was going to do it with an art journal but I think I might rather try it on a small puzzle piece instead. Much less intimidating! lol

Yours turned out great! I like the one 2nd row, 3rd in with the girls face and the rainbow one. ^_^
237  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Re: Laptop sleeves for my roommies ^_^ (pic heavy) on: April 11, 2011 02:14:01 PM
I really like these! Especially the second one. But I think that's because I'm on a pink and brown kick lately.

Also, I have a pretty large laptop that I've been looking to buy a sleeve for. I guess I'm going to have to make one to get the kind that I want. Cheesy

You should do it!! Then you'll get exactly what you need and it will be uniquely yours. Then you should post pics! lol ^_^

My sister would LOVE that fabric! She's a huge Beatles fan. I like the patch too. SO COOL!! ^_^

Thank you! And you're welcome for the link. What I liked about that tutorial is its adaptability. She shows you how to measure your laptop/netbook/etc so you get the size you need. ^_^

these are fantastic!  your roomies are so lucky.  my fave is the brown and pink one; the lining is so pretty.  thank you for sharing the tut link.

Took me forever to find the 'right' fabric for the pink/brown one. And you're welcome! ^_^
