1  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / Batman Bleach Stencil on: September 15, 2009 08:00:00 PM
So, it's my friend's birthday on Thursday and I wanted to make him something fun. He's a big comic book fan. So much that he teaches the Dark Knight returns in his english lit class. (I know, I wished I'd had him as a teacher too).

So I present to you Bleach stencil Batman:

I'll be honest, this project was my first time using the bleach/freezer paper stencil technique... this is however my second t-shirt. The first one was just one splotchy bleeding mess. When I went looking for the tutorial I couldn't find it. So I was trying to do this by what I had briefly read months ago. So, anyone with suggestions on how to get the lines crisper... or the image whiter... or just general suggestions about how to improve. I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks Smiley

Here's the full t-shirt. It's still a little wet (that's why it's got the dark areas across it). I was excited to post:

Oh, and I saw this spiffy little swivel, fit on your finger, Fiskars cutter thing when I was at Jo-anns. Though it would be the perfect thing for cutting out stencils. It was kinda like trying to direct well... a swivel chair.. or a wheel on a grocery cart. Maybe I just need to use it more to get the hang of it... but I found it not so helpful.
2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Flame Dress on: May 02, 2009 07:06:52 PM
This is my first attempt at sewing a dress.

I used a vogue pattern and some cool flame fabric I found at Jo Ann's

This was also the first time I tried to put in a zipper. In the future i will do it by hand. Zipper foot or not that was hard..... Smiley
