1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Stitch marker swap on: August 28, 2011 07:23:36 AM
I'm sick of using scrap yarn as a stitch marker. I'd like to organize a stitch marker swap.
You and your partner will craft a set of stitch markers for each other. It's quick, simple and cheap.

Who'd like to do this?
2  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / How do I clean a plaster mask? on: August 21, 2011 08:38:23 AM
I hope this is the right place.

I've made a mask from plaster. The stuff they wrap around your arm when it's broken.
Because I didn't want it to stick on my sister's skin (and pull out her eyebrows) we applied Vaseline.
Now it's all on the mask and rubbing it off with toilet paper doesn't work very well. Can you help me?
3  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Star Sign Swap? on: July 10, 2011 01:42:13 AM
I thought of making a star sign swap where you craft items related to your partner's star sign. Each star sign has it's own element, certain colors, a birth stone...
If this swap will happen I thought we'd keep it rather small, like a 3 or 4 point swap. Maybe in August?

What do you think?
4  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Perler Bead Madness on: July 09, 2011 05:09:11 AM
I've never worked with perler beads before until a year ago while working at a kindergarten.
This month I finally decided to buy my own. The package arrived this week and the madness started.
It's so much fun!

I even made inchies, though there are a bit bigger because I ironed them too flat:

But I have no clue what to do with all of these. I'm going to turn a few of them into pins, but the rest...?
What do you do with your perler bead creations?
5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Panda Panda! Hat on: June 22, 2011 11:39:52 AM
I found the pattern and thought it was too cute. Yesterday I thought of the white and black fleece I got left from a swap and then...I started sewing. Took me a while because I don't have a sewing machine. At the front it's a bit too long, but it's okay.

I love it. ^^ And I can't wait for fall to come, so I can wear it.

6  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Christmas ornament from old plastic ball on: June 22, 2011 07:35:45 AM
Today I found three plastic balls. The type you find in vending machines and that hold a little toy or something.

I covered the inside of one with glitter and red stars, glued the two pieces together and added some decoration. First I wanted to make a necklace out of it, but now I'm afraid the plastic gems would fall off.

On the top there's a wire.

What could I do with it? Still use it as a necklace pendant? I'm unsure.
7  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Looking for country-specific recipes on: June 12, 2011 03:48:32 AM
I'd like some recipes for food that's very popular in your country. I'm talking about about pbj sandwiches (I even don't know what kind of jelly to use), how do I make a good pumpkin pie with which pumpkin? And what do people in other countries like to eat? The only thing I'm sure I never want to try is vegemite.  Grin
I hope you can help me.
8  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / My first paper inchies on: June 06, 2011 07:06:49 AM
Well, they're not completely made of paper, so I hope this is the right place to show them off.

After working with polymer clay I had to make three sets of inchies for a swap, and I chose paper as my main media. The theme was "flower", as you can see.

They turned out much better than I expected. Damn, these were my first paper inchies and sorry for probably sounding conceited, but I absolutely love them, and I think they're awesome, most of all the rose inchies.

And here they are. ^^

9  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Within an Envelope Swap? on: May 31, 2011 02:30:32 AM
I had this idea for a low cost and quick swap a while ago.

The swappers are meant to fill a regular envelope (like those you use for letters) with little goodies, whatever fits in. ATC's, inchies, stickers, maybe even a pair of small earrings or so.

Anyone interested?
If so, we would need an orginazer because I can't do that yet.
10  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Fimo Inchies on: May 28, 2011 10:04:05 AM
For a swap I needed to make inchies from polymer clay. This was the first time I made inchies at all, and it was so much fun (though I think I prefer making inchies from paper).
Eyeshadow was a great helper. ^^
