Oy! Koi!

May I rent your stencil?

I got it from google image search, and I don't have the original saved anywhere, but you could probably blow up that first picture I posted! Smiley

How did you get such a large print? Is it a photocopy? It's an incredible job anyway. Congratulations.

i scanned it and then printed it out on two pieces of paper. thank you!

I didn't wait for the paint to dry to take a picture, so it looks splotchy and uneven, but it's just wet.
EDIT: HAHA, I am just now noticing I also took this picture before I removed the swirly bits of freezer paper from the fishes' face. Oops!

it was hard to get a picture of the paint colors, since the blue and gold are shiny. The blue is much darker, but everything else is about the same.

Wow! this totally rocks. do you have an etsy account? I would totally buy this.

I don't! Sad But I will be working on being able to set one up within the next couple of months!
16  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / Bob Dylan and Jason Mraz Tote Bags on: April 30, 2009 12:09:27 PM

The paint looks splotchy and uneven, but it just wasn't dry yet. I was too impatient to wait until it dried to take a picture.  Tongue

The Bob Dylan bag was for a friend, and I decided I wanted a similar bag, but with Jason Mraz.

I really like how his hair came out, but I should have worked on his face a little more when I was making the stencil.

This is an absolutely outstanding stencil.

I would love to know if you used bleach followed by a color, or did you use fabric dyes on their own, also what concentration of bleach did you use?

Also, what material did you make the stencil out of?

Cheers Smiley Smiley

I didn't use bleach at all! Just tulip soft fabric paint. The stencil is made of freezer paper. This site has good information on it: http://www.kittybuttons.com/tutorials/paper%20options.jpg
18  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Discussion and Questions / Re: multi layered freezer paper? on: April 29, 2009 11:51:44 PM
be careful ironing on second layers of freezer paper. try not to iron over parts that have paint on it, as to not have paint peel off when you take off the freezer paper. you can iron over those parts, just make sure it doesn't get too hot.
