1  Re: Embroidery Hoopla Rnd 5 - Color Spectrum Gallery!! (Send 6/6/11) in The Swap Gallery by imbettinonalice on: May 19, 2011 05:50:01 PM
I'm so sorry that it has taken me a few days to post pics, but my laptop cable died and I haven't had 90 bucks to get a new one.  My boyfriend was nice enough to bring his over to my house to save me Smiley

Here is my absolutely STUNNING hoop from ZadishaLuxe! She chose the color pink from my list and also that I love vintage pinups.

My camera does not do it justice....she actually stitched barrel curls into the hair!  The quote in the banner is from Marylin Monroe.  It says "A sex symbol becomes a thing.  I just hate being a thing" which is one of my favorite quotes (and something that all young girls should be taught....could change the world) that she discovered through our PMs.  ZadishaLuxe, if you have  a better pic, please post it.....this was the best my camera would do!

Thank you so much.  This is amazing for my first hoop swap and I just hope that you like the one I am making you. Smiley

I also received from Fullmoon and she received mine.

Here are her inchies to me:

And here are my inchies to her..her themes were Doctor Who, Steampunk and Cthullu

Thanks all! I loved this swap

I received a wonderful vintage pinup ATC from mezcraft! She used India Inks and I'd love to try them now as this is awesome!

First, the really neat old circus card that it came in. I love it

And the ATC

Pardon the not so great pics, it was night.

Thank you so much! I love it!

I have received and my camera is working again, yay!

Sorry for the crappy pics, it was night time.

First, from beckashell....she chose Funny Youtube Videos ( I love the Old Spice guy!)

I also received from grapeicepop for Broadway Show.  I love the music of the Lion King but haven't had a chance to see it.  I love the ATC

Thank you both! Such great ATCs for my first ATC swap.

I am so excited that my camera is working again so that I can post the awesome inchies I have been receiving!!

First, from gozer.  She chose my themes of The Blue Man Group, the 80's and vampires.  She had PM'd me to ask what exactly I loved about the 80s and I told her that I loved it all as a child of the 80s and could recite John Hughes films in my sleep.  She picked my absolute, hands down FAVORITE movie of all time for inchies...the Breakfast Club!

I'm also LOVING the hand drawn Blue Men and the amazing paint drum.  The vampires are wonderful!

She also sent me these awesome backings for future inchies.  I have this exact pair of red Chucks (also pink and a plaid pair....I wear them every day)  Smiley

Next I received from gala_apples.  I love the tres chic vamps and the 80's patterns!

I have received from missriss who chose my theme of Man V Food and the 80s.  She said she loved the show, too! Yay! (PM me to gush lol).  The pics don't do the inchies justice but she made the Man V Food inchies with a challenge each (i.e. the 12 Egg Challenge for the bottom inchie) and then wrote if it was "Man wins" or " Food wins" .  This made me laugh because every time I eat I announce "Woman won!" if I'm able to finish or "this round goes to food" if I don't.  My boyfriend thinks I'm weird Smiley

She also said she used to be obsessed with 80s style and fashion and boy do the inchies show it! I love the fishnets!

Thank you everyone! I am loving the inchies! I can't wait to figure out how to display them.....I think I'm going to have to paint a frame in crazy neons for the 80s ones Smiley

I received my very first ATC ever! It's from zkatom and she chose my theme of "ATC inspired by one of your favorite songs".  One of her favorite songs is "While My Guitar Gently Weeps". I love that song, too!

Please excuse the picture, my digi camera battery died and I had to use my phone ....and at night Sad

It doesn't come out that well in the pic, but she wrote out the lyrics around the guitar.

7  "All I need is a healthy ovum and I could grow my OWN Leonard Nimoy!" in Needlework: Completed Projects by imbettinonalice on: March 24, 2011 06:59:06 PM
I'm so excited that I can now post this...I'm very proud! I organized the Big Bang Theory Rd 3 swap and my partner, shdwstrm, mentioned that one of her favorite episodes was the Christmas one where Penny gives Sheldon the Leonard Nimoy napkin.  This is also one of my faves, and since I've recently gotten hooked on embroidery, I thought I'd try my hand at the napkin for her. Now that she has received, I can post Smiley

Ta-Da!

I wish the pic was a bit better, but hopefully you can see it.  Let me know what you think.

I am loving the packages so far! Such talented craftsters in this swap!

I have received from shdwstrm!! It couldn't have come on a better day.  I walked in from a HORRIBLE day at work to my package. It made my day.

Boy, did she spoil me!! We had agreed on extras, but I feel like I should send her some more things.  I hope that she likes what I sent.

First, a Rock, Paper, Scissors, Lizard, Spock tote bag! I LOVE these bags to carry all kinds of things and now everyone can see my geeky side. (plus, it will be fun to see if anyone gets it)

Next, I have recently started embroidery and she made me a needlebook!! She said this was her first try at it and it is awesome! Here is a pic of the front, and one of the first "page" with one of my needles already putting it to use.

She also made me a Flash trinket box.  The logo on the top is, I believe, polymer clay and the inside had some awesome Sheldon buttons (including my fave pic EVER) and candy. nom nom

And prepare to be jealous.....

She painted me 4 Sheldon paintings Andy Warhol style.  How awesome is that? I can't wait to put them up on my way. I love Warhol-esque stuff! BTW, was this coincidence or a bit of stalking that I live about 1.5 hours away from Pittsburgh, where he was from and where the museum is? Smiley

Thank you so much, shdwstrm! I had a great time swapping with you.

9  My Very First Embroidery Projects Ever. in Sublime Stitching Embroidery by imbettinonalice on: March 10, 2011 07:19:09 PM
So, thanks to Sylvanna and Jenny Hart I am now officially an embroidery addict rather than a "oh-that-is-so-pretty-I-could-never-do-that" person.  Here are my first two projects.  I did the sampler from "Embroidery Effects" and then the sparrows from her craft notebook.  I am loving the transfers!

Please pardon the crappy night pics and the wrinkly sparrows napkin.  I was so excited to post that I didn't iron it yet Smiley

I'd love to hear what you think Smiley

10  My "52 Reasons Why I Love You" Book :) in Valentine's Day by imbettinonalice on: February 15, 2011 04:54:27 PM
I know that by now everyone and their grandmother has made one of these, but on my budget I just couldn't pass it up.  This year was my boyfriend and I's first Valentine's day and we've been dating since June.  He's never really celebrated Vday and I'm a bit strapped for cash, but we wanted it to be a bit special.  This project took a lot longer than I expected, but I liked the results .....and he even teared up while reading it.  Kiss

One little mishap....the binder rings I bought ended up being too small. I didn't think that my crafting would add so much to the cards, so I'm going to get larger rings and "re-string" the pages soon.

Sorry for the crappy pics...my camera gets finicky about night shots.

(you are kind)

(You put up with my vampire book addiction)

(You won't let me live on Ramen until next payday) -- Every time a ton of bills come due at once or it looks like all my money is walking out, I always throw up my hands and say "Oh, I'll just live on Ramen until I get paid!!" and he always answers "No, you won't..."

(You gave me an AMAZING vacation) -- A bunch of us planned a long vacation to ComiCon in San Diego and then Vegas.  Just before, I ran into some financial crap and didn't think I would be able to afford it, but he made it all possible Smiley

(You watch Glee with me (and kinda like it) )--- hehe, this one is one of my faves

(you are a nerd...like me)

(You love me)

(You give me more reasons every day)

Let me know what you think!
