1  Archive of Past Craftster Challenge Entries / CHALLENGE 40 ENTRIES / China Photo Dinner on: July 05, 2009 12:55:15 PM

This wall hanging shows a sampling of some of my favorite photos from my trip to China in 2005.

Bamboo placement and plates are all from Target - inexpensive. Chopsticks were free from a local Asian restaurant. I had a couple plastic spoons that came from a boxed Asian dinner, but ended up not using them.

2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / 1st reconstruction project on: June 19, 2009 05:05:11 PM
Two t-shirts and a tank to a dress. I didn't get a pic of the lilac t-shirt before I started chopping away, but it was the same as the brown. Idea is from current issue of ReadyMade magazine. I think it needs a little more, maybe an applique or something, but for now I was happy just to get it done. Smiley

3  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / Help with a zigzag stitch on: June 19, 2009 01:34:24 PM
I have a Singer Touch and Sew machine with lots of different stitches. I am a beginner at sewing. Whenever I attempt to use a zigzag stitch my needle comes unthreaded or the needle breaks. Today I am working on a T-shirt reconstruction project and need to use a zigzag to finish raw edges. I completed several edges successfully, but then my needle started unthreading each time I tried to stitch. I've tried rethreading the machine and that doesn't seem to help. The needle just keeps unthreading! Sad
4  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Simple Father's Day Card on: June 19, 2009 12:12:12 PM
Just a simple card for my dad. Cut out the letters from patterned paper, dry inked with a paint brush for the background and added a chipboard bird. Quick because I was way behind (had to ship the gift).

5  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Pillowcase dresses for 4 yr old nieces on: May 17, 2009 06:55:21 AM
This is my very first Craftster post - but I have been lurking and enjoying everyone's projects for some time. I found a tutorial for dresses made of pillowcases (http://www.aroomsomewhere.net/2007/07/pillowcase-dress-tutorial.html) and had to make some for my two 4 year old nieces. I added a fabric flower to each from this tutorial: http://kindawonderful.typepad.com/pink_paper_peppermints/2008/06/rounded-petal-fabric-flowers-31-crafty-flowers-in-31-days--day-23.html.
