1  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / girly skull applique on: May 23, 2010 11:57:54 PM
this is my newest applique of a girly skull, i used blanket stitch on just about all of the skull along with a few backstitches and a zig zag stitch. i also had my first run in with wonder under, which i think went pretty well. comments and critiques welcome! p.s. i apologize for the awful quality of the phone/no light pictures

2  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / First Amigurmi Doll on: April 20, 2010 10:42:22 PM
I was inspired by the "grace" doll in this post http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=344067.0
so i decided to create my own. i didnt use a pattern, I just kind of made it up as I went, but I could try to write one if anyone is interested, now, onto the good stuff Smiley

as soon as she was finished, i pulled the strands of yarn apart for the hair after attaching them, so they are now 2 stranded as opposed to the 4

post guitar. i decided she could be a little punk rock.

she is 8 1/2 inches tall with a g/6 (4.25 mm) hook using worsted weight yarn.
comments and criticisms appreciated!
3  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / first baby hat on: April 13, 2010 06:19:58 PM
i knit my first baby hat last week and was surprised at how easy it was! granted, I cheated, I did the easy way on straight needles where you knit a big rectangle and then sew up the seam and drawstring the top, i believe mine was about 6 1/2 inches by 12-13 inches when it was still in rectangle form and is now 13 inches around and 5 1/2 inches tall with a 2 in fold up brim, not including the little pom pom on top.
comments and critiques welcome Smiley oh i also made this using some scrap worsted weight variegated yarn on some 4 mm bamboo needles (my favorites, they're just so tiny!)
4  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Following Suit with a Stashbuster Jellyfish on: April 13, 2010 06:16:23 PM
I also made the silly mistake of telling my lovely boyfriend that when we moved back to Texas, I would only take the yarn that was ABSOLUTELY necessary, and of course my first response is "but honey, all of it is necessary" and then I get the look, and cave and say fine, I will only take my absolute favorites. I saw the big pink stashbuster jellyfish on here and decided I had to make one, and since I had 2 rolls of bright blue super saver, and this awful black with yarn bits I grabbed my Q hook (oh yeah, its huge) and got to work, and this is what I came up with Smiley

comments and criticisms welcome. he is 27 inches around and 36 inches from top to end of tentacle
5  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Embroidered Owl on: April 13, 2010 06:04:43 PM
I made this cute little embroidered owl on Sunday. He only took me a few hours to complete, and I'm so excited, I finally figured out blanket stitch! For something so easy, it sure did elude me for quite some time. the same with the lazy daisy. I only messed up on one part. Comments and criticisms welcome  Smiley

6  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / First Post {pic heavy} on: January 27, 2010 07:15:09 PM
Hello Everyone. This is my first post. I've been lurking around the different communities for quite some time now, mostly spending time on this one, crochet and knitting. Here's some of my projects I've been working on. I look forward to hearing your comments! Thanks.
