I've been busy making these brooches with my handmade buttons, and I couldn't resist photographing them when they were spread out like this.....

here is a jacket and skirt, both from charity shops that I upcycled with some fabric I got on sale in a great fabric shop in Glasgow,  (in Scotland) called Mandors - it's a treasure trove of amazing fabrics.

Great fun to do, but sewing in spirals is so hypnotic!

Here are two basques that I bought in a charity shop and have funked up a bit.

This is a 2nd hand jacket that i have jazzed up with some fancy fancy yarn and my own handmade buttons. the shape of the jacket was already so great that all I did was emphasise the curves by outlining them....sometimes you gotta know when to stop!


here is another one, fancy yarn, some handmade felt, and some offcuts of handwoven boucle fabric that i was given by a weaver friend, and my own buttons (layered on top of the original buttons)  to finish it off.

here a two 2nd hand waistcoats/vests that I customised with bits of fabric and yarn, and finished off with my handmade buttons.
I would call them waiscoats but I realise that might confuse Americans.
In Scotland a vest is something we wear under our clothes to keep warm in the winter. also known a "simmit", or maybe that was just in my house.

Good way to use up bits of scrap fabric and yarn. And it gives me an excuse to buy fancy yarns even though I can't knit for toffee!

here is another brooch made out of left over fancy yarn,ziggidy zagged onto thick black felt, and topped with one of my handmade buttons

I bought a 2nd hand jacket with an interesting curved shape, and jazzed it up by zigzagging multicoloured yarn on to bias binding and sewing it round the curved edge. Then I sewed on loads of my handmade resin buttons.
I only wish it fitted me as well as it fits my mannequin!
