well, you can always renew your vows and have different pictures taken after you've either lost more weight or are happy with how you look. Plus then you'll be more relaxed because its not the "BIG DAY" and have all these other crazy stressers around.

oooooo..... that could be tasty. I'll have to try that one.
3  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Cranberry sauce on: May 18, 2009 07:59:10 AM
I feel like I'm horribly out of season. Its summer and right now I'm making stuff that people usually make in the fall. Like cranberry sauce and pumpkin bread. Don't get me wrong, those are great year round, but I feel like my "cooking clock" is a little off.

Though I found that I LOVE this stuff on bread with cream cheese. It has been my hugely addicting breakfast this whole past week.

I also love the fact that its more tart than store bought types, AND it has nice big chunks of cranberry in it. I think I have found cranberry nirvana.

I've put it on bread with cream cheese and turkey sandwiches, what else can do you put it on?

4  COOKING / Dessert / Hot Fudge Sauce on: May 14, 2009 06:46:10 AM
Whenever I have ice cream, I feel as though I MUST have hot fudge to top it. And in my neurotic "I make everything from scratch" mode I decided to make my own!

I tried to make it once before but I didn't know that corn syrup was the culprit for making it that delicious chewy texture that hot fudge gets when it hits the ice cream. The first time I made it, it ended up more as a ganache and slightly gritty somehow. I'm not sure since I didn't add sugar to it.

I have to admit that the smell of bubbling gooey chocolate is one of the most intoxicating smells I've ever had going in my kitchen.

The recipe calls for unsweetened chocolate, which I had never had before. I also forgot to warn my husband that it doesn't taste good, so when he stuck his finger in the bowl I used to melt chocolate after it was done he made a very upset face.

Its so good that I generally had a little ice cream to go along with my bowl of hot fudge. Smiley

5  COOKING / Dessert / Re: Raspberry Cream Cheese Coffee Cake on: April 30, 2009 07:04:05 PM
all of your tips are good, the recipe already has lemon juice in it so i dont know if i would add lemon too. one thing i noticed with having some this morning after it sitting all night is the tartness of the fruit mellowed. but its still sweet. I'll probably end up cutting back on the sugar to maybe 1/2 cup in the batter instead of 3/4. dang tasty though.
6  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: Jewelry/Sunglasses Solution on: April 30, 2009 07:05:13 AM
I did a similar idea for my jewelry, but there is one thing you have to watch out for. your silver jewelry will tarnish much quicker out in the open than in a jewelry box. there were some of my pieces that I didn't know were actually silver plated until they started turning yellowish.

my husband has been wanting one of these, but knowing me i'll end up sewing on all those stupid dots anyways just because i'm so OCD like that.

i love the texture in the background, its really quite fitting for the phoenix.

kudos on doing something so beautiful, even though someone else's artwork was inspiration you put your own twist on it, so i love it.

I think this is such a great idea! I have to totally make one now since mine is looking a little sad. I probably will make one for my keyboard as well so i dont rest my wrists on the table anymore!

I also am loving the fabric choice.
