1  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Slouch bag on: November 14, 2010 11:00:38 AM

This is from the pattern "Fabric Lover's Slouch Bag" by Seams and Dreams.
http://www.seamsndreams.com/product.php?productid=95&cat=13&page=1

Goes together easily and requires only 2 yards of fabric, plus a little more if you want pockets. (I added an extra pocket on the inside.) You could also easily shorten the straps if you want to use less fabric. The exterior provides a great space for embroidery, patchwork, or any embellishment you like.

I love this bag.  Smiley

5  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Quick Bricks lap quilt on: March 29, 2010 01:36:15 PM

"Quick Bricks" lap quilt pattern from Seams & Dreams. Done in flannels - some by Robyn Pandolph - with no batting, and the blocks are sewn to the backing as the rows are put together, so it's quilted as-you-go. Easy peasy, and very soft and lightweight.
6  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Sunny Days quilt on: March 26, 2010 12:28:37 PM
From the pattern in the book, "Super Simple Fat Quarter Quilts," by Lynda Milligan & Nancy Smith. I'm not so sure it was "super simple,"  Grin , but it did turn out well and seeing it hanging on my living room wall makes me happy.

9  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Torii tunic on: March 22, 2010 02:19:18 PM

I made this for my 16yo daughter from the Torii Tunic pattern (a Boutique Chic pattern by Serendipity Studios).

I'm not new to garment sewing, but this pattern was a bear to follow. The actual construction wasn't too hard - about intermediate sewing difficulty - but the directions could really use some improvement for clarity, especially since the pattern is designed to have several variations.

We also found the garment to finish a bit larger than expected, even though I carefully followed the directions re: measurement. My daughter measured at a perfect size XS in this pattern, and although the pattern is designed for the garment to have very little ease, we found the bust, shoulders, and waist to be large in the finished version. I definitely recommend making a trial garment if you attempt this pattern.

My daughter loves the top, and she's gotten tons of compliments, so overall the project was a success. Smiley
