so, my hair fades pretty fast, or else I'm ultra picky about fading and can't stand when my hair isn't brilliantly iridescent! so here's the latest update... violet+wildflower=midnight blue with lavender highlights in the sun... plus black covering up my old blonde streaks and roots.

2  SS Dia de Los Muertos Napkin Set in Sublime Stitching Embroidery by missmichigan on: July 18, 2005 03:07:58 PM
I bought these luscious and boldly colored cloth napkins form crate and barell on clearance to start doing some SUblime patterns on, for simple tea towels and totes haven't been enough for me. I want to *see* my handiwork every time I have a guest over, eat, clean, leave my house, haha!!

This is the set:

aw, I did the same thing as pumper today!!!

shaved up the back, dyed it black. Chopped up the crown  a lot. Lifted the top color and it turned ink blue. So.... I dyed it over with SFX wildflower and did streaks of bleach (color rays, actually)- and finally got the blue/green/purple combo I've been dying (nyuk nyuk) to acheive.

and, don't mind my floor pose  Tongue

meh, I guess you can't see the highlights that well... in the pictures! I have a photo op tomorrow for work, so I um, yeah, wanted to make sure I look professional.

5  Atomic Handbag! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by missmichigan on: June 27, 2005 07:34:09 PM
I embroidered the canvas based on the inner fabric, my first shot at my own hand drawn design. You can still see a little chalk residue, I did the design mostly freehand and "invented" my own 'boomerang' stitch  Wink

So, I just wanted to show off....

7  Coloring Book Pattern... in Needlework: Completed Projects by missmichigan on: June 20, 2005 03:41:55 PM
I'm sure someone has already used this birght idea, but coloring books + Aunt Martha's transfer pencils = great line work for embroidery patterns.

I am a closet hello kitty fan, and I use my 5 year old as a conduit to express that love  Grin

Here's my first attempt at using a coloring book pattern:

thanks for looking!!

Well this is my hair.. i have had the same hair since 8th grade.  I want to go dark (like the wig in my pic) but I am nervous that i will not like.  Perhaps a good temporary solution.. any suggestions?

Jessica A.

omg don't do anything to your hair!! okay- maybe I'd let you dye it a nice chestnut brown, but holy shit woman, you are seriously gorgeous!!!

Here's my latest:

I cut out a bunch on the back and sides and sorta hacked the top and front for a choppy look. I'm having a really hard time keeping my hair looking good and vibrant- it washes out to a pretty nasty gray after about 2 weeks. For now, I'm sticking with purplish red hues to get back to something red/auburn eventually. Maybe. hahaha. Hair.

9  Alligator Stripes & Polka Dots! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by missmichigan on: April 25, 2005 12:03:38 PM
these both have canvas exteriors and cotton linings. The first isn't interfaced, but the 2nd one, more of a handbag style is and also has a magnetic snap closure. The first also has a large velcro'd pocket along it's outside.

woo for summer inspiration!

I'm a mermaid now!!

a few days ago to refresh the memory banks:

this is probably my most favoritest hair I've ever had, but it was time to go lighter for summer!

and today!

this is the BWild semi perm Blue Nile over bleached out purple (read lime green). I am so in love with it. In person, it's much more aqua, but my mom just said straight up it was mermaid hair. Hahaha. At 27, my mom still thinks it's cool that I'm a freak Cheesy
I get my Special Effects at Newbury Comics, for anyone in the New England area, its a shame there aren't Newb's in every state.

So I got crazy this week and cut and colored my hair.

does the special effects stuff make your hands & everything colored as well? just wondering cause that why i stopped using manic panic. i still have an unopened jar of hot hot pink. i got so annoyed after doing my nails and waking up to pink the next day! Angry

yeah, lady, that's what disposable gloves are for!!!!! And soft scrub to clean the sink or tub when you're done rinsing. <see also zombieteeth's thread in this forum for advice on using manic panic)
