I'm hosting a White Trash Bash in my backyard this summer and need some wonderful ideas for inexpensive (since they'll only be up for a day) outdoor decoration.

We know we want thrift store furniture, flamingos, baby pools, and such things....

But I know I can find genius ideas here!

I want em' all! Keep em' coming!!!
2  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / What makes your bath bombs special??? on: April 17, 2007 06:35:54 AM
I am new to making bath bombs and finally getting good at it Wink

I am wondering what are some FABULOUS additives to put into my bath bombs to make them especially delicious. What do you add to your bombs to make them especially...

  • Wonderful smelling
  • Aesthetically pleasing
  • Skin softenting
  • Perfectly packaged
  • All around amazing

Most importantly.... where do you find the supplies to do so with?

Hopefully, you don't mind me asking!

5  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Knitting hats on straight needles...... on: January 08, 2006 08:52:26 PM
I prefer to do it this way and can not find any patterns other than the most basic basic basic hat that I am so tired of making. Does anyone have any wonderful hat patterns for straight needles??
6  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Hat patterns for straight needles.... on: November 29, 2005 09:22:56 AM
OK... so I've mastered the basic hat on straight needles.

It's killing me making the same hat over and over again. I don't have the time or cash to buy the proper circulars and dpns let alone the time to master them before christmas.

Does anyone have some fabulous hat patterns that I could make on straight needles??

If anyone has any idea how to make that popular Kirstin Dunst style of hat on straights.... I'll give you the soul of my first born Smiley
7  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Get Product and Website Opinions / Cheap Whore (X-posted at Glitter) on: November 17, 2005 06:35:26 PM
(wasn't exactly sure where to post this)

Hey ladies. I had a fun idea for a new website and have started working on the guts of it.

I'm calling it "Cheap Whore; being broke and fabulous". The slogan is "Armani Style on a ramen budget" Though I'm considering changing it to "Being a broke socialite". I plan on reviewing drugstore products as well as writing articles on how to get into shows for free, make money on the side, garbage picking, going out on the town for cheap, putting together designer looking ensembles at cheap stores, yadda yadda yadda...... It's going to be fun, funny, and completely snarky. Here's how I need your help.....

I need some links that coincide with the basic idea for the website. Cheap cooking links, budgeting blogs, super cheap online shops, so on and so forth.

I need some more ideas that you think I may have missed here.

I need to know how to promote the ever living hell out of it so people actually see it.

I need your opinions on the appearance of the site thus far.

I need to know if you think this is stupid or if it's an idea that you think could work.

Also.... I would love to have guest contributors if anyone thinks they might like to join in on the fun with me  I know there are a billion bright and funny ladies here on Glitter. After all, I read your writing every day!

So here's the link:

Like I said, It's just a skeleton as of yet. I'm looking forward to your responses.....

9  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Discussion and Questions / Mod Podge help.... on: November 12, 2005 10:07:42 AM
I am in the process of making a mixed media peice and am in the paper collage stage of it right now. I am using Mod podge and am having a HELL of a time with all of the air bubbles. It's still in the beginning stages so it is still salvageable. What is a fool proof, never fail technique for avoiding these pesky little air bubbles in my collages?
