I received an awesome package from Melazdee! 

Melazdee sent me TONS of stickers (already being used for my sons' sticker charts), scrapbooking paper, stencils, stamps, and stick-on gems. 


She also sent me lots of fabric, corks, ribbon, beads, more stamps, a metal frame for a purse (I have great ideas for this already!), wire, metal rings (these will be used very soon), and embroidery accessories.

Swap Details
The idea is to make one tiny craft item with a science and/or geek theme. It should be physically small and should be something that you can craft with a high level of skill. Even if it is a fairly simple/easy item for you to make, please embellish so that it best represents your skill. (For example, if you wish to make a coin purse, you could embroider, add beading, or take other steps to make it a really special piece.)
• You will receive only one partner.
• You may only send that partner ONE tiny craft - "extras" are not allowed.
• All items must be 4"x4" or smaller.

How do you know if your idea is "tiny?" Examples: A coin purse is tiny; a clutch purse is not. A pair of earrings/pendant is tiny. A trinket box is tiny; a pencil box is not. If you're not sure if your idea qualifies as "tiny," ask your organizer!

For a wonderful swap experience, communication is the key. Please keep in touch with your partner. Further, it would be nice if you would post in this thread at least once a week (you could just stop in for a quick hello.....or if on holiday or will be without internet access or anything of the such, just post a message....it gives your partner and organizer warm fuzzy feelings to know you are still around).

I received from the amazing Disco Queen Highness several days ago, but was unable to post until today.  I've been at the state Science Olympiad competition with my middle school nerd herd.  

DQH sent me several things since nothing on my wists added up to a medium project.  First, three packages of roving.  Aren't the colors perfect for spring?  You will also notice the giant pile of MOHAIR yarn.  She's allergic to it, so she used it to pad the rest of the package.  Can you say awesome?



DQH made me a mini-hackle for blending different rovings.  I tried to show an action shot...I'm not sure how clear it is, but here we go.



And finally, the most awesome item, the Periodic Table GEEK tote.  I took it with me on my Science Olympiad trip.  Oh, yes.  My kids adored the bag.

She made this super-soft taggie in honor of the first space walk.



Here is my favorite! A bib for Mister Roger's birthday.





sloanlaw also sent me little cowboy wash cloths.  The are soft but ridged on the back side.  I think they'll be great for the bath tub!

I love the One Tiny Thing (OTT) swaps.  I think a science/geek themed round would be great.  Anyone interested?

Grenouille78 sent me the most awesome package!  She also did some serious stalking! 

She made beautiful, comfy slippers, two dish cloths (so pretty), and a snake draft dodger.  Aren't they adorable!?! Actually she made A LOT of draft dodgers, but I only photographed one.  She also made these really, really cool olive oil lamps.  I can't wait to use them.  I went grocery shopping today and completely forgot to buy olive oil.     She also made adorable toys for my boys.  A little bat, dinosaur finger puppet,and jingle ball.  She also sent photocopied frugal tips from a magazine. 





Grenouille78's little girl is so kind hearted.  She decided to send a much loved book about a chick hatching from an egg for my boys.  One problem...it's in french!     Grenouille78 didn't want to deceive her daughter or discourage her loving gesture, so she sent it.  I'm sending it back, as requested, with a thank you note.  Isn't she a wonderful little girl?  Grenouille78 must be a wonderful mommy.
