11  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Felt like a new outfit - 3 recon's 1 day on: May 01, 2010 03:41:04 PM
Top and pants made out of 2 extra large teeshirts!  Bandana made out of a scrap piece of fabric!  Love all 3 items!!
My favourite part is the neckline on the shirt, it took me forever to make it look the way I wanted, but now I am very happy!

Whole outfit!

The shirt! Fun with Necklines! w00t!

The pants... used the following tute and just added a funky waistband...

Product placement... Cheesy

And a simple bandana/headband that I love and that took me about 3 minutes....

C & Q always!
Hope this might inspire you with some simple ways to spice up some quick and easy recons!
12  HOME SWEET HOME / Pet-Related Crafts: Completed Projects / 4 post Pet bed from linked Tutorial!!!! on: April 07, 2010 01:10:17 PM
I used this amazing tutorial to make a petbed out of a sidetable

http://petprojectblog.com/archives/cats/diy-pet-bed-made-from-table/ (working link!!)

This is the table I used from IKEA

I cut the table down to make it smaller, added feet to the bottom, had a very talented friend make the tops for the posts, screwed and glued it all together and painted it.

Then I cut a cushion out of foam and sewed the cover for it.

And this is the actual recipient, the cat was just testing it out....
13  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Just a few more t-shirt recons.....inspired by all of you! on: February 21, 2010 02:08:14 PM
More attempts at T-shirt recons.  I'm really happy with all 3!  i get all my inspiration from this forum!

My favourite.... I'm into the high collar right now

I went a little overboard on the back. but I had a bunch of elastic I wanted to play with it.  I usually wear a black tank top underneath

I really like this style. I think it's flattering....

And this was my first attempt at a teeny tiny bit of ruching, love how it looks!

Comments, Critique and Suggestions always appreciated.
14  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / 3 hockey jersey's into uber cute dresses on: January 17, 2010 05:39:43 PM
So I will start off by saying I'm a leafs fan! I have a leafs jersey I want to recon into a dress, but thought I'd practice on some others first.... this is what i came up with.

I will thank smarmymyclothes and what the craft, I used some tute's to come up with these dresses, so ... shout out!

And with no further adieu.....

Rangers jersey! cheerleader style!  I added the grommets (wanted practice) this one has no additional fabric, it is made from 100% hockey jersey (1 jersey)

A bruins jersey, a bit more of an evening gown look, inspired by this tute!

The V shaped black piece is additional fabric

And finally, a sporty looking dress made from a sharks jersey, a little bit of additional fabric to make the bottom layers of the skirt long enough to see!

I'm planning on making more of these before I cut up my leafs jerseys! I'm not sure which style I like best!
Not sure what to do with these ones though, seeing as, as a leafs fan, I can't wear these in public!

Thanks for looking!
15  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / En Vouge! (1047) my first attemp at 'evening wear' on: December 12, 2009 05:21:32 PM
My Christmas party dress! I've wanted to make this pattern FOREVER! It didn't turn out quite like the picture of the pattern, but I still really like it (I think the pattern instructions were wrong, or the picture on the envelope had the dress lining on the outside!)

Anyways here it is.... very christmasssssy fabric I think

On my dressform, would NEVER have got this damn thing hemmed without it....

Close up of the beading, which I LOVE LOVE LOVE

Top on, I think it fits quite well, but took A LOT OF adjustments from the pattern

And in action!

I don't love how the top skirt hangs, I def. know what I could do to change it next time, I love the dress, so there might just be a next time  Wink

Comments, questions always welcome!  HAPPY HOLIDAYS AND HAPPY CRAFTING
16  HOME SWEET HOME / Pet-Related Crafts: Completed Projects / Dober-coat for the Canadian winter on: November 14, 2009 01:21:19 PM
My best friend has a doberman, however his coat length isn't great for the Canadian winters, so I made him an extra special 2 layer fleece winter coat!

What a nice bum!

It looks a bit big but when he walks it still fits well

The bottom

and the top, complete with zipper hole since she walks him on a harness

Comments, Questions and Compliments always welcome   Grin
17  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / I <3 beads and ribbon on: November 04, 2009 04:47:05 PM
Finally bought my first ever matching bedsheet set that isn't a hand me down!  It's white and matches my white and blue room so i thought I would make some throw pillows to match.

Lately I am bigtime into ribbon and hand beading.....

I hand a really hard time adding piping to the round pillow, no fun at all, I won't be doing that again, but I like the beading pattern

I love how the fringe turned out on this one....

and a little more hand beading for fun  Smiley

I love home decorating!
18  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Simple way to class up your kitchen! on: October 19, 2009 04:11:17 PM
I find in a nice classy kitchen (not that my kitchen is classy, but I try) that the bottle of dishsoap is a bit unsightly, but if like me, you have no dishwasher, it's nice to keep the dishsoap out.

So to make it look a bit nicer!  I got a used oil jar and filled it with dish soap!  I think it looks way nicer and it pours really really well!!

It's the simple things.....

19  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Arrested Development Messenger Bag! - Image Heavy! on: October 12, 2009 06:21:30 PM
I made this for one of my best friends birthdays!  She (like I) is a huge arrested development fan!
This was my first experimentation with iron on tee-shirt paper, it was a LOT of trial and error but I'm happy with the final product!  Any fans of the show should enjoy the bag!

Oh.......... for reference she also works in science and in a hospital!  Which is why I chose some of these quotes...

Front of the bag

Back of the bag

Inside Flap - Beside "maeby tonight" there was george micheals face, but I accidentally ironed it off  :|

Hope there are some fans out there to enjoy~

Just bought a new house and am redoing most of it!  Have most of the painting done and am starting the crafting now!  I just LOVE how these vogue pattern drapes turned out!  It is in the dining room so I think the extreme look works!  Let me know what you think!

Before - Ikea Drapes!

I'm thinking of making a similar set for the bedroom, we shall see!
