I made hubby some Star Trek TOS pajamas. Just waiting on the patch!

I made Simplicity 2217, view C. I had to adjust it by grading up and adding 8" to it as the biggest size was 12 (I should be in 22 per measurements, 46-34-46). My high bust is 38" (I wear bra size 34K) so I always have to do a ginormous FBA.  I ended up removing most of what I added in because the thing fit like a misshapen tent. Granted, I can never seem to get an FBA right.  Not quite sure what I do wrong.
I got the skirt to fit finally but the back bodice is still way way too long; it pools at my lower back and the neckline is too high, up near my hairline. The mock wrap front is too loose.

Rather than set it on fire I'd like to fix it. Help!

This is the first item I used my new serger on! I got my first one for Christmas.
I know the bodice is a little too loose around my waist but it stool looks good.

I made this for my SIL Valorie. It's a cotton fabric with a tropical print. It's nice and soft, should be cool for where she's moving (Hawai'i, lucky girl).
The bodice front and back is self-lined, side zipper, ruffled on the bottom. I'm not sure what else to say! 
It's McCalls 6085.

The full dress on the duct tape dressform we made of her. Sure was glad to have that! The dress isn't floor length, I just don't have a stand to hold the duct tape form. That's as high as that piano chair goes.


The side zipper. I should have taken a pic of the inside, as I did it the way a tutorial showed. It's lined like RTW, no handsewing the linging to it. I hate handsewing. lol
Hard to explain but it looks really good! If you want I'll take a pic and post that.


Self-lined bodice. I sewed it down with invisible thread.


French seams. I don't have a serger yet (keeping my eyes open for a second-hand one) so I do french seams as I don't like the look of unfinished seams. I stink at overcasting or using the bias tape to finish them.

So I don't start some kind of baseball war about the red sox vs the yankees, let me clarify that I don't care about baseball. (Of course, that may start a war too. )

My three year old knows who the red sox are thanks to his adopted uncle , and since he asked me to make him a hoodie, he wanted a matching one for my son so he can take him to a game.

And no, I didn't bother trying to match up letters or logos. 

I made this dress for a couple in my church for their first baby. I'm giving it to her at the baby shower. It's a vintage repro, Simp 2392. It's mint green satin dress with organza overlay on the skirt (Sew Classic fabrics from Joanns). It has piping, ruffled sleeves, and hand embroidery on the yoke, pockets, sleeves, and matching satin bonnet.

I made this for Easter (obviously, as the title implies). I made it from a yellow sheet I bought at goodwill. Or maybe it was a yard sale. I don't remember. 

It's Simplicity 2701. I cut a 12 and did an FBA for my 34J bust, the skirt is cut a size 18. I'm not showing my head as my hair is not presentable.

This is my first time posting something I've made.

The acquaintance (we'll call her C) saw a tanktop on a maternity website for $200, asked me if I could make something comparable. I said yes, I can. And I did.    I got nowhere near $200 for it, though.

The shell is the confetti dot fabric from Joanns. It was a pain in the toosh. It rolls, handwash only, you can't iron it, and the glue from the dots sticks to the needle. The lining is also from Joanns, it's a posh black lining, very soft. I happened to have a Butterick maternity pattern that I used; I don't remember the number but can dig it out if you want it.
It was originally a t-shirt type of pattern but I omitted the sleeves and took a bit off the shoulders.

The sewing machine was my birthday present and it arrived today. I'm going to take it slow, though, because I haven't touched a sewing machine since I was 16 (13 years ago!  ).

I've read through the tips and FAQ's, but any tips or tricks I might have missed would be great!  This sites sure sucks up a lot of my time.
