I made this for my SIL Valorie. It's a cotton fabric with a tropical print. It's nice and soft, should be cool for where she's moving (Hawai'i, lucky girl).
The bodice front and back is self-lined, side zipper, ruffled on the bottom. I'm not sure what else to say!

It's McCalls 6085.
The full dress on the duct tape dressform we made of her. Sure was glad to have that! The dress isn't floor length, I just don't have a stand to hold the duct tape form. That's as high as that piano chair goes.

The side zipper. I should have taken a pic of the inside, as I did it the way a tutorial showed. It's lined like RTW, no handsewing the linging to it. I hate handsewing. lol
Hard to explain but it looks really good! If you want I'll take a pic and post that.

Self-lined bodice. I sewed it down with invisible thread.

French seams. I don't have a serger yet (keeping my eyes open for a second-hand one) so I do french seams as I don't like the look of unfinished seams. I stink at overcasting or using the bias tape to finish them.
