1  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / photo negatives lamp(shade) on: August 01, 2009 02:22:15 PM
says it all in the name really, i made a lampshade by covering an old metal lamp frame in photo negatives.

it actually took longer than it might look, because even though i had long strips, they wouldnt bend into the right curve (due to the nicely awkward curve) so, except with the bottom row, i had to cut them into singles and doubles :/

i think it turned out real nice though! it might be nothing special in the day, but at night i absolutely love seeing the photos glow on the lamp, and cool reflections on the wall.

anyway here are some photos:

2  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / reconstructed, reivented? on: April 19, 2009 11:37:55 AM
So, i found an old wooden bedside table from when i was little (sorry no picture, just use your imagination for this one Smiley )

and when i say old I mean aged, not cool and vintagey.

Well, Being the child i was, it was also pretty battered, deep ingrained scribbles, half peeled off stickers, that sort of thing. Apart from that, the table was still pretty strong and sturdy and i need a bedside table, so I thought I'd 'reconstruct' it.

Obviously, i couldn't settle for a simple paint job, so i thought i'd reivent it as a modern table...
by papier machee-ing it with bits of colourful magazine!

I really like how it turned out, but what do yous think?

(p.s. sorry about picture quality, my camera leaves alot to be desired)
